Position Summary: Chiquita Jackson Enterprise, a pioneering poverty innovation hub, seeks a passionate and experienced Volunteer Director of Operations & Programming to oversee and lead the operations and programmatic efforts across all its initiatives. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the effectiveness, sustainability, and impact of programs designed to uplift underserved communities, foster youth development, and drive social change. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage diverse programs, build partnerships, and oversee day-to-day operations. Key Responsibilities: Operations Oversight: Provide strategic leadership and operational management for all Chiquita Jackson Enterprise programs. Oversee administrative processes, including compliance with policies, budgets, and reporting requirements. Develop and implement efficient systems and workflows to improve organizational performance. Program Management: Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of programs, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and objectives. Collaborate with program managers to set goals, monitor progress, and measure impact. Ensure programs meet the needs of target populations and maintain high-quality standards. Team Leadership: Manage and mentor program staff and volunteers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability. Provide guidance and support to ensure staff and volunteers are equipped to meet their responsibilities effectively. Promote professional development opportunities for the team. Partnership Development: Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Identify opportunities for new partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations to expand program reach and impact. Resource Management: Oversee resource allocation, including budgets, materials, and personnel, to ensure programs operate efficiently. Monitor and ensure accountability for all assets, including equipment and property. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of long-term strategic plans to advance the organization's mission. Identify opportunities for growth and innovation in program offerings. Public Relations and Advocacy: Represent Chiquita Jackson Enterprise in public forums, community events, and stakeholder meetings. Advocate for the needs of the communities served and promote the organization’s vision and mission. Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as assigned to support organizational growth and program success. This annual celebration honors the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and promotes awareness of African American culture, history, and achievements. The planning committee plays a crucial role in coordinating and ensuring the success of the event, from logistical support to community engagement. Volunteer Roles: Event Coordination Assistant: Help with coordinating activities leading up to and on the day of the parade. Assist with vendor outreach and scheduling. Manage communication with parade participants, including performers and floats. Ensure that all logistical needs are met for the parade, such as traffic control, permits, and supplies.
