We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Homework Helper Volunteers at Delray Beach Public Library. As a Homework Helper, you will assist children ages 6-12 with their homework assignments, fostering a positive learning environment within the library. The position is needed throughout the school year from October - May. Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one assistance to children with their homework assignments in various subjects. Support children in understanding and completing their tasks, encouraging independent learning. Create a welcoming and inclusive environment for children to feel comfortable seeking help. Assist with basic computer skills related to homework and research. Communicate effectively with parents, library staff, and other volunteers to ensure a collaborative and supportive atmosphere. Requirements: Minimum age of 21. Strong academic background and proficiency in subjects commonly taught in elementary and middle schools. Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for helping children succeed in their academic endeavors. Reliable commitment for shifts on Mondays through Wednesdays from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
