ROLE OF A CITIZENSHIP VIRTUAL TUTOR: Tutors offer enrolled students one-hour, private tutoring sessions on Zoom. Students who meet the residency requirements for citizenship are strongly encouraged to study in preparation for this important and often challenging interview. Because of this, students greatly benefit from tutoring that mimics the format of the naturalization application. TUTOR REQUIREMENTS: Citizenship tutors are asked to provide a minimum of one-hour weekly Zoom sessions with individual students. Due to the complex nature of this application, tutors shadow existing tutors several times before working independently. Tutors assist with various areas of the application process, generally focusing on one area per session. The application process includes completing paperwork, demonstrating knowledge of basic civics, and completing both a speaking and a written portion.
