The sole purpose of a CASA Guardian ad Litem is to advocate for the best interest of a child involved in the child protection system and are often the only constant person in the child's life while they are in the child protection system. CASA Guardians ad Litem, or GALs, are volunteers appointed by the court to advocate for the best interest of these children who have experienced neglect, abuse, or abandonment. The experience of the GAL can be emotional, challenging, and very rewarding. Judges in child protection rely on the information from GALs when making their decisions and the positive impact the GAL has on the rest of a child's life is immense. Guardians ad Litem must be at least 21 years old and able to pass a criminal background check. We are in need of volunteers in Ada, Elmore, Boise, and Valley counties. Family Advocates is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Volunteer Operations Administrator to assist with various operational tasks. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about using their skills to streamline processes and support our mission. Key Responsibilities: Document Management: Scan physical documents and create digital records to enhance our file management system. File Organization: Navigate our Dropbox database for file organization and cleanup, ensuring easy access to important documents. Database Entry: Accurately enter In Kind donation forms into our donor database, ensuring up-to-date information. Administrative Support: Assist the Executive Director with daily operational needs and other administrative tasks as required. Grant Reporting: Shadow and assist in preparing reports for grant funders to gain valuable insight into the reporting process. HR Support: Shadow various HR tasks, including payroll processing, new hire onboarding, and timekeeping procedures. Qualifications: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Dropbox. Comfortable with data entry tasks and working with online databases. Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Previous experience in administrative or operations roles is a plus, but not required.

Key Responsibilities: Assist the Operations Director with bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping. Provide expertise on journal entries, general ledgers, and reconciliation processes. Answer questions related to accounting practices and assist with the accurate recording of ledgers. Meet in person once a week on Fridays for a 2-hour session to collaborate and address accounting needs.

Volunteers needed in Kuna, Caldwell, and Boise, ID The Family Strengthening Education Program encompasses the whole family in building Five Protective Factors that are known to help families thrive. The Protective Factors include social connections, knowledge of parenting and child development, social and emotional competencies of children, knowing about concrete support in times of need, and parental resiliency. In-person: The Children’s Class Volunteer supports the Family Strengthening Program every week for consistency for the families. The Children’s Education Volunteer ensures that participating children remain safe and comfortable during class time; volunteers interact with the children through activities, crafts, games, and the class curriculum. The youth curriculum is trauma-informed and achieves healthy relationships through constructive play, interactive activities, and reading time.
