Volunteers needed in Kuna, Caldwell, and Boise, ID
The Family Strengthening Education Program encompasses the whole family in building Five Protective Factors that are known to help families thrive. The Protective Factors include social connections, knowledge of parenting and child development, social and emotional competencies of children, knowing about concrete support in times of need, and parental resiliency.
In-person: The Children’s Class Volunteer supports the Family Strengthening Program every week for consistency for the families. The Children’s Education Volunteer ensures that participating children remain safe and comfortable during class time; volunteers interact with the children through activities, crafts, games, and the class curriculum. The youth curriculum is trauma-informed and achieves healthy relationships through constructive play, interactive activities, and reading time.

Mission Statement
"Family Advocates works to strengthen families and keep kids safe by empowering everyday people to enrich the lives of youth." We are a private, independent 501 (c)(3) non-profit agency founded in 1978 and serve the fourth district of Idaho. This year, Family Advocates will provide a voice in court for over 1,100 children while providing family strengthening supports to nearly 1,200 additional family members. Our reach would not be possible without the support of our dedicated volunteers.
Description
Family Advocates trains and deploys over 500 volunteers each year to fulfill the demand of our child abuse and neglect prevention & intervention efforts throughout the 4th Judicial District of Idaho. Our CASA volunteers investigate child abuse, neglect, and abandonment and then advocate for those children in court to make sure the child’s voice is heard. Our Family Strengthening Education Program volunteers work with families to create strong networks and healthy habits through courses, workshops, family activities, and more. Please visit our website for details about each program!
