The Boys & Girls Club of Vista Foundation is looking for a qualified trustee to serve on its Board. The Foundation is a separate 501c3 that is dedicated to supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Vista through investments and marketing its planned giving program to help leave a legacy for future generations of youth. 1.A trustee is knowledgeable about the Club's mission, vision and goals as well as current operations and issues. 2.Each director has a fiduciary responsibility to the organization to provide sound financial management and help market its planned giving programs. 3.A trustee actively supports the BGCV’s mission, vision and goals. 4.A trustee makes the BGCV a priority in his/her annual charitable giving and contributes time and expertise to the Club’s resource development program. 5.A trustee attends meetings well prepared and participates fully in all matters. Trustees are expected to: a.Attend 3 out of 4 Board meetings per year. b. Complete annual background check and all required safety trainings as mandated by Boys & Girls Clubs of America. 6.A trustee accepts and supports Board decisions and respects Board confidentiality. 7.A trustee guards against conflicts of interest, whether business-related or personal.The director takes care to separate the interests of the organization from the specific needs of a particular member or constituency. 9.A trustee has the responsibility to support the organization and its CEO and to demonstrate support within the community.

Do you want to put your skills and wisdom to work as a member of our Board helping underserved kids in North County? The Boys & Girls Club of Vista is looking for adept and humble leaders to join our Board during a significant period of program growth. Volunteers are the glue to our community- Our Club had over 350 volunteers last year and it truly helped us make an impact on the kids we serve. The Boys & Girls Club of Vista Board of Directors is an unpaid position comprised of caring people who volunteer their time to ensure the Club provides the best programs and resources available to many of the underserved families we serve. The Board meets monthly on the third Thursday at 8:30 a.m. (in-person strongly encouraged). Directors are asked to be actively engaged and are required to attend 8 of 10 Board meetings each year, actively participate on at least one committee, meet annual give/get targets (currently at a minimum of $2,800 or more per year which includes the Club's March gala. We are very interested in finding a C level executive looking to volunteer from the Vista Business Park area. Established in 1963, BGCV meets the needs of youth ages 5-18 regularly at five program sites serving youth residing primarily in Vista and Oceanside, California. BGCV is open "when kids need us most" - after school, on most school holidays and during the summer. BGCV offers safe places just for kids where they can learn, grow, and succeed.
Club programs help Club members build healthy habits for life and how to be resilient leaders through mentorship, accountability while developing a growth mindset.
Club programs include:
Education: Career Launch, STEM, music and homework assistance and literacy practice Health and Wellness: health, fitness, prevention/education and self-esteem enhancement and a Children’s Food Garden Leadership and Service: leadership development opportunities for youth. Sports and Recreation: comprehensive sports and recreational fitness programs.
