This Volunteer End User Support Specialist position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Information Technology (IT) unit. This opportunity requires participation in in-person activities and/or perform work in an American Red Cross facility. The purpose of this role is to provide technical support troubleshooting IT equipment such as computers, printers, network equipment. Volunteers for this role must live within 1 hour driving distance to this site: 1 Plymouth Place Milford, CT 06460 Reporting to an IT End User Support (EUS) Regional Volunteer Manager or Regional Volunteer Partner the End User Support Specialist may: Provide technical support troubleshooting IT equipment - computers, printers, network equipment, etc. Provide support to Technical Specialists for local and enterprise-wide projects. Support IT needs at special events. Assist with developing or improving EUS policies and procedures. Participate in core team meetings. Qualifications: Required: Knowledge of personal desktop computing and advanced office automation technology including Microsoft Windows 10, Office, Office 365, file shares, printers, scanners Understanding of local and wide area networking to include wireless design and setup Ability to analyze, prioritize and quickly resolve issues Operational flexibility is required Candidate may be required to work non-standard business hours to meet sudden and unpredictable business needs Willingness to travel periodically Submission of Resume Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies

The Translator / Proofreader volunteer will work closely with the Multicultural Communications Director to translate and review written or spoken materials from one language. You must be fluent in writing and reading in both languages and understanding common cultures and phrases in this role. Proofread machine-translated materials and make edits to preserve the original meaning and intent. Translate/proofread internal and external documents upon request and on an on-call basis. Utilize translation software for efficiency and consistency. Adhere to Red Cross translation guidelines and terminology, ensuring completed work follows established standards. Consult with subject matter experts to understand specialized concepts to translate them appropriately. Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in linguistics, translation, interpretation, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Professional certification in translation. Experience translating from English to Spanish Exceptional proofreading, grammar, and writing skills in both Spanish and English. Ability to identify errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, style. Strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge and command of Microsoft Word. Must have a phone, computer, and internet connection. Volunteer must reside in Phoenix, AZ Preferred qualifications: Knowledge in context maintenance, glossary, and terminology creation. Experience with machine and translation memory (TM) Interest in continuing education and language fluency assessments for certification.
