Our flagship program, Achievers in Technology (AIT), provides scholarships, mentorship, and career-building opportunities to underserved youth, equipping them to thrive in the technology industry. Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and creative Volunteer Marketing Specialist to help us expand our reach, promote our programs, and engage our community. As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in creating and executing marketing strategies to support our mission. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement digital marketing strategies to promote Sankofatech’s programs, events, and initiatives. Create engaging content for social media platforms, email campaigns, and the website. Assist in designing marketing materials, including brochures, flyers, and graphics. Collaborate with team members to develop and execute outreach campaigns to recruit program participants and supporters. Analyze and report on the performance of marketing efforts and suggest improvements. Qualifications: Experience or interest in marketing, communications, or a related field. Strong writing and content creation skills. Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing tools. Creative mindset with an eye for design (experience with Canva or similar tools is a plus). Passion for community development and commitment to Sankofatech’s mission.

Are you passionate and committed to supporting the next generation of Black tech talent? We at Sankofatech are searching for dedicated volunteers like you to join our team of volunteers! Volunteer Opportunities AIT Mentor As an AIT mentor, your primary responsibility is to develop an excellent relationship with your mentee and provide guidance to help your mentee succeed in becoming a technology professional. Our team will partner with you and provide you with the additional resources and support you need to effectively work with your mentee. Minimum Qualifications: Passion and desire to make a difference in the lives of students Can commit a minimum of 2 hours per month per academic year Mentorship experience and currently work in the tech industry AIT Technical Interview Coach As a technical interview coach, your responsibility is to prepare scholars for technical and behavioral interviews for Software Engineering or Data Science internships. Coaches prepare scholars through mock interviews and leading out on a monthly coding session where they’ll walk through coding problems with scholars. Minimum Qualifications: Passion and desire to make a difference in the lives of students. Can commit to leading out at least 1 coding workshop (2-hour commitment) a semester. Can commit to conducting mock interviews (2-hours) a semester.

The Achievers In Technology (AIT) Program. The AIT is committed to bridging the gap and amplifying the presence of black technology professionals in the ever-evolving landscape of computer science. The AIT is a four-year journey (from freshman year to final year) for students of African descent pursuing a degree in Computer Science or its related degree. The program is dedicated to ensuring that our scholars achieve their dream professions by providing them with the assistance they need while in school. Our goal is to address underrepresentation and ensure that black technologists are given equal representation in the tech industry. Through the following aspects of the program, the AIT program can achieve its mission; AIT Summer Bootcamp, AIT Mentorship Program, AIT Interview Prep And AIT Mock Interviews, and AIT Events And Workshops.
