About the organization: Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc. (JIFI~NYC), is a 501(c)(3) accredited not-for-profit /NGO entity and was created to advocate for (a) women in crisis situations, (b) amateur youth athletes from Jamaica playing sports in the U.S., and (c) underserved communities. Our members are all volunteers with diverse industry background, but all of whom share one common goal, which is to give back, do good, and advocate for those who are disadvantaged or who are the most underserved among us. For more information, visit us online at: www.Jifinyc.org The primary responsibility of the Social Media Manager is to assist the Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc., by developing and executing social media strategies, creating content, and managing social media accounts to amplify the foundation’s mission. Additional tasks may be assigned as part of the volunteer’s regular duties. Job description: The Social Media Manager at Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc., is responsible for developing and executing social media strategies that amplify the organization's mission and engage our community. You will assist in the creation of dynamic content, manage our social media accounts, and interact with followers to help grow our digital presence and influence. This role is perfect for someone who is not only creative and skilled in digital media but also passionate about social change and willing to use their talents to make a difference. You will play a critical role in building our digital community, driving engagement, and expanding our outreach to potential supporters and partners. What We’re Looking For: Experience in social media management and content creation, ideally in the nonprofit sector. In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.) and their respective audiences. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft compelling stories and messages. Organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple campaigns simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. A passion for digital storytelling and creating content that drives social impact. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Creative thinking with a strong attention to detail. Experience with analytics tools and measuring social media campaign effectiveness. A proactive, self-starter attitude with the ability to work remotely or in-office. Qualifications: Proven experience in social media management or content creation (at least 2 years) Strong understanding of social media platforms and digital content trends Proficiency in video editing and graphic design tools Bachelor’s degree (appreciated) in a related field Job highlight: Meals and subway fare provided. Responsibilities: Strategic Content Development: Collaborate with the team to create and execute impactful social media campaigns that align with our mission and goals. Set clear targets for audience engagement and awareness. Visual Storytelling & Content Curation: Curate and oversee the creation of multimedia content (videos, graphics, blog posts, etc.) that reflects our mission and resonates with our community. Community Engagement: Actively engage with followers on social media, respond to comments and messages, and foster a positive, inclusive space for dialogue. Data-Informed Strategy: Track and analyze social media analytics to monitor performance, identify trends, and optimize content for better engagement and impact. Trend Monitoring: Stay current with social media trends, digital marketing strategies, and new content formats to keep our messaging fresh and engaging. Content Calendar Management: Maintain and update the social media content calendar to ensure consistent and timely posting. This is an unpaid Volunteer/Intern position.

Job description: The Grant Writer's primary goals are to assist the Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc., by completing and submitting application(s) (with firm approval from the Board Chair and/or Secretary to ensure quality of work) for private or federal grants that are readily available to the foundation. This will include preparing proposals and completing grant applications to assist the company in obtaining needed finances to continue to support its’ cause. Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc., (JIFI~NYC) is a 501(c)(3) accredited not-for-profit /NGO entity and we are looking for Grant writers and fundraisers who can help us become more expended. Responsibilities: · Work under the direction of the Executive Director to research grant opportunities. · Maintain knowledge of proper protocols and all relevant local, federal, and state guidelines required for the proper proposal submission process. · Research and identify available government and private funding opportunities. · Work closely with the Executive Director to write grants, draft letters to donors and prepare and submit grant proposals. · Assist in calling or scheduling calls to potential individual donors or foundations. · Provide administrative support as needed (on a case-by-case basis, dependent on the company’s workload). · Highly developed time-management skills. · Ability to work independently or on a team. · Serve as a liaison between JIFI~NYC and all funding agencies or organizations. · Create and maintain funding calendar activities for foundation. · Generate revenues for foundation programs and services through submission of researched, well- written, and well-documented fund-raising proposals. The Grant Writer's primary goal is to assist the Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc., by completing and submitting application for private or federal grants that are readily available to the foundation. However, all other responsibilities listed can/will become a part of the normal routine of the volunteer. This is an unpaid Volunteer / Intern position.

Job Description: The Sponsorship & Outreach Specialist (Volunteer) will play a pivotal role in furthering the mission of the Jamaica Independence Foundation, Inc. (JIFI~NYC) by building strong relationships with potential sponsors and partners and helping secure vital funding for our ongoing projects. This role focuses on creating and marinating relationships with corporations, individuals, and other organizations who align with our values and mission. We are seeking a highly organized, motivated, and proactive individual who can represent JIFI~NYC with integrity, and passion, while helping to secure the resources necessary to continue our important work in the community. Qualifications: Highly organized and self-motivated. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Impeccable attention to detail. Ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, including individuals, organizations, and corporations. Strong networking and relationship-building skills. Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) in a related field. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a relevant role or demonstrated equivalent skills and passion for nonprofit work. Responsibilities: Sponsorship Identification & Outreach: Research potential corporate sponsors, individuals, and other funding organizations to support JIFI~NYC’s initiatives and events. Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing sponsors and partners, ensuring ongoing support for JIFI~NYC programs and events. Proposal Development: Collaborate with the Executive Director and board members to develop sponsorship proposals, including opportunities for sponsorship at events, programs, and any initiatives our organization make have in place, or are looking to begin. Communication: Craft and send outreach communications, including emails, letters, and promotional materials to potential sponsors, donors, and partners. Grant Collaboration: Work alongside the Chair and Secretary of the organization to identify and pursue funding opportunities, including sponsorships for programs and events. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the team, as needed, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and maintaining a sponsorship database. Desired Skills: Ability to communicate JIFI~NYC’s mission effectively to diverse audiences. Proven experience or interest in corporate sponsorship, community outreach, or fundraising. Strong interpersonal and networking skills, with the ability to build and sustain professional relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Drive, Canva and other collaboration tools. Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
