Mission Statement

Francis on the Hill provides free groceries, diapers, clothing and other gifts to DC families through shared abundance, taking care of each other as one human family.

Description

We are an all volunteer organization that currently gives out about 500 bags of donated wholesome groceries weekly to recipients in need of food in Meridian Hill Park and nearby. We beautify the Park with hanging flower baskets and daily, early morning trash pickup. We distribute free diapers monthly. Our newest project is gathering food and supplies to ship to Ukraine with the help of Ukrainian partners.

Francis on the Hill, is made up of caring people that spend time and energy to bring light and joy to those needing food and supplies. They work out of a garage in an alley in NW DC. Neal, Judy, Stan, and Bailey are friendly and kind-hearted. They load fresh food and supplies into bags and carefully place (jam) as much as possible into multiple vehicles for delivery. Our team came away knowing we had immediate impact in a friendly slightly chaotic environment. I recommend this opportunity for 5-7 people at a time.
