We are always looking for more people to join our team - and you don’t need to have an advanced degree to make an important contribution. --- *This is a REMOTE Volunteer position* The General Research Assistant / Intern (GRA/GRI) has a strong interest in the technological achievement of whole brain emulation and wishes to participate in its development. Through mentorship, the GRA/GRI will acquire requisite skills on the job and will support the practical instantiation of multiple R&D workstreams in the Office of Research. This is an opportunity for you to learn Mkdocs, command-line and analytics (if haven't been exposed before). Responsibilities / Duties: Post content on regular basis Receive inquiries about website content and forward to appropriate people Ensure websites load quickly and no other issues Monitors Google Analytics and notes trends and points of improvement to improve visit duration and number of visitors. If interested, can write content as well as receive content from others. We are always looking for more people to join our team - and you don’t need to have an advanced degree to make an important contribution. --- * This is a REMOTE Volunteer position* We are seeking an experienced React Developer to help us finish building a new web-based tool for visualizing a science/technology roadmap. This roadmap visualization tool will allow anonymous users to view all of the milestones required to achieve a research goal, including various kinds of information about each milestone : Success criteria Current researchers or labs Time/money cost estimates Risks The roadmap visualization tool will also enable authenticated users to log in and add/remove/modify milestones in the roadmap. Your role would be to provide the React expertise that the rest of us are currently lacking, troubleshoot the React issues that we're running into, and help us complete the initial version of the half-finished frontend. You would contribute to : Architecture, design, and development of the application Participate in weekly calls, emails, and team chats to discuss progress Requirements: 3 years of Javascript experience and knowledge working with React or 1 year of experience in a full time role working primarily with React development. Their responsibilities will include tasks assigned to them by the President or potentially by members of the Executive Committee. They will be expected to keep information confidential and sign a confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement (NDA) since much information they come across may be sensitive. They may be asked to attend meetings and record minutes. Responsibilities / Duties: Send out reminders including monthly reminders to Officers to submit their Office Reports (once the week before they are due and once the Friday before they are due) and other reminders as needed. Schedule regular meetings for the President with Officers and Leads. Develop organizational systems to support efforts. Keep up-to-date on outside influences, track relevant articles, attend a monthly meeting regarding external influences, and assist in writing a monthly External Influences Report. Assist Secretary or other members of the Executive Committee in preparing the agenda for Board, Committee, or other meetings. When asked, attend Board, Committee, or other meetings. When asked, record minutes for Board, Committee, or other meetings.
