Creative Reuse Kit Volunteer

SCRAP Creative Reuse is a local creative reuse center seeking creative volunteers to make fun, fancy, and cute packs & kits from our huge inventory of reuse materials. At SCRAP we intake 5,000 lbs of donated material each month. Many of the items we receive are mixed little bits. We are a small team here at SCRAP, and we rely on our volunteers to help sort and keep new items flowing out to the floor everyday. If you are passionate about reuse culture, and getting creative with ways to save our planet, this is the opportunity for you! Creative Kit volunteers would sort through various small materials to create fun kits and packs to add to our sales floor. Volunteers receive a day of discount, and unlimited high fives from our staff.

Creative Kit volunteers would sort through various small materials to create fun kits and packs to add to our sales floor. This specific opportunity is focused on small groups! This opportunity is great for school groups (with chaperone), college student groups, church groups, or businesses looking for team building exercises. We can accommodate up to 10 people per group. Volunteers receive a day of discount, and unlimited high fives from our staff.

Fabric/Notions Volunteer

SCRAP Creative Reuse is a local creative reuse center searching for fiber fanatics! At SCRAP we intake 5,000 lbs of donated material each month. Our largest and most frequent donations are fabric yardage. We are looking for volunteers that have a love for fabric to measure, roll, price, and sort our fabrics. We are a small team here at SCRAP, and we rely on our volunteers to keep new items flowing out to the floor everyday. If you are passionate about reuse culture, and getting creative with ways to save our planet, this is the opportunity for you! Volunteers receive a day of discount, and unlimited high fives from our staff.

Sewing Machine Repair

SCRAP Creative Reuse is a local creative reuse center seeking handy volunteers with a background in sewing machine repair! At SCRAP we intake 5,000 lbs of donated material each month. Many of the items we receive are mixed little bits. We are a small team here at SCRAP, and we rely on our volunteers to help sort and keep new items flowing out to the floor everyday. If you are passionate about reuse culture, and getting creative with ways to save our planet, this is the opportunity for you! We don't often have machines that need a tune-up or repair, so this would be a less frequent need. But if you know how to fix a machine and would be interested in helping us out occasionally, we can't wait to hear from you! Volunteers receive a day of discount, and unlimited high fives from our staff.

Education/Camp Help Volunteer

We are seeking volunteers to assist our Education Coordinator with facilitating workshops, camp SCRAP days, and craft planning. We are seeking volunteers that have a passion for Education and creative reuse. Ideal volunteers will have some background/experience working with children and/or assisting with or teaching art and craft related classes. Volunteers interested in assisting children through our unique brand of reuse art education will be asked to complete a simple background check, and complete an online abuse prevention course.

Description

At SCRAP Creative Reuse we take donations of clean, reusable creative supplies and make them available to the community at a low cost. In the Ann Arbor community for 36 years, we have a warehouse full of colorful, exciting art and craft supplies that can be used in all kinds of creative projects. We have an education program for kids and workshops for adults. It is a vibrant place to volunteer! Our wonderful volunteers sort donations, shelf materials, assist in the retail store, assist with our children's programming, help with fundraising/event planning and many other great opportunities for this colorful Ann Arbor nonprofit art supply store.
