Are you a fan of baseball, American football, or acting? Do you have an hour to spare each week? If you're looking for a fulfilling way to make a positive impact in your neighborhood, we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! About Us: The Friendly Visiting program at Riseboro Community Partnership is dedicated to supporting the well-being of older adults by connecting them with caring members of the community. Many of our cherished older adults in North and South Brooklyn are feeling isolated and could use a friendly companion to chat with. Volunteer Opportunity: We are currently seeking a compassionate volunteer who shares a passion for sports like baseball, American football, and acting to connect with an older adult residing in Bay Ridge. You can engage with them through: One-on-One Calls: Connect over the phone to discuss sports highlights, acting, and much more. Home Visits: Spend time in person, perhaps watching a game together or having a lively conversation about the world of acting. Group Calls: Lead group discussions where older adults can engage with each other and share stories about their favorite sports moments or acting experiences. Why Volunteer with Us? This is more than just a volunteer opportunity-it’s a chance to build a meaningful friendship while bonding over shared interests. Brighten the Day of Older Adults in Bath Beach and Dyker Heights - And Have Fun Doing It! Got an hour to spare each week? Ready to make someone’s day with just a conversation, a game, or even a laugh? If so, we've got an exciting volunteer opportunity waiting for you-right in your neighborhood! About Us: At Riseboro Community Partnership, Friendly Visiting program, we’re all about bringing joy to our older adults by connecting them with awesome people like you! Many of our beloved older adults in Bath Beach, Dyker Heights, and beyond are feeling a bit lonely, and you could be the one to make their day brighter. What’s the Gig? We’re looking for fun-loving, kind-hearted volunteers from Bath Beach and Dyker Heights to hang out with homebound older adults. Whether you love a good chat or prefer playing games, we’ve got three cool ways to get involved: One-on-One Calls: Like chatting on the phone? Have a weekly conversation with an older adult-trust us, you’ll hear some fascinating stories! Home Visits: Want to meet face-to-face? You can visit older adults for some fun-think card games, chess, or just chilling with music. Group Calls: Love being the host? Lead a lively group call where older adults can share stories, laugh, and connect with each other. Why Volunteer with Us? This isn’t just any volunteer gig-it’s a chance to build real friendships and make a huge difference.
