Join Us in Brightening the Day of Seniors in Bay Ridge, Bensonhurst, Coney Island and Dyker Heights!
Are you looking for a fulfilling way to make a positive impact in your neighborhood? Do you have an hour to spare each week? If so, we have an amazing volunteer opportunity just for you!
About Us: The Friendly Visiting program at Riseboro Community Partnership is dedicated to supporting the well-being of our senior citizens by connecting them to members of our community. Many of our beloved seniors in North and South Brooklyn are feeling isolated and could use a friendly companion to chat with.
Volunteer Opportunity: We are seeking compassionate volunteers who are interested in spending time with our homebound senior citizens. You can choose from three different ways to engage:
One-on-One Calls: Connect with a senior for a delightful conversation over the phone.
Home Visits: Visit seniors in their homes for activities like playing chess, card games, dominoes, chatting, or simply listening to music together.
Group Calls: Facilitate group calls where seniors can engage in lively discussions and share stories with each other.
Why Volunteer with Us? This is more than just a volunteer opportunity; it's a chance to forge meaningful friendships and make a real difference in the lives of our seniors. By participating, you'll:
- Bring joy and laughter to a senior's day
- Learn about the rich history and experiences of your neighborhood
- Make a positive impact on mental health by combating feelings of loneliness and isolation
Who Can Volunteer? We welcome individuals from all backgrounds and ages (18 and up) to join our volunteer team. Diversity is our strength, and we believe everyone has something valuable to offer!
Ready to Make a Difference? Sign Up Today!
Together, we can create a brighter and more connected community for our cherished seniors. Join us in spreading love, laughter, and companionship! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Biviana, the Friendly Visiting Coordinator at bcoyomani@riseboro.org
Thank you for your kindness and support!
