The primary role of the Patient Support Volunteer is to provide in-person emotional and/or practical support to patients and/or their families. Although the needs of individual patients vary, common responsibilities of a Patient Support Volunteer include: Conversing with patients Reading, watching TV, or playing games with them Providing respite for their family or caregivers Helping with light housework (grocery pickup, cleaning, meal preparation, etc.) Documenting visits in an online medical record Note: this position requires traveling to the patient's home or facility
