Having a diverse group of patients with individual backgrounds and personalities means we need a diverse group of volunteers to help meet our patient’s needs. Whether your passion is storytelling, music, hospitality, medicine, animals, or mechanics, there is a place for you on our hospice team. The primary role of the Patient Support Volunteer is to provide in-person emotional and/or practical support to patients and/or their families. Although the needs of individual patients vary, common responsibilities of a Patient Support Volunteer include:
- Conversing with patients
- Reading, watching TV, or playing games with them
- Providing respite for their family or caregivers
- Helping with light housework (grocery pickup, cleaning, meal preparation, etc.)
- Documenting visits in an online medical record
Note: this position requires traveling to the patient's home or facility
