PROJECT ANIMALAID BOARD MEMBER - DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Board will support the work of Project AnimalAid ("PAA") and provide mission-based leadership and strategic governance. While day-to-day operations are led by PAA’s Executive Director, the Board-ED relationship is one of mutual support, and the appropriate involvement of the Board is both critical and expected. This document will be shared with prospective board members and will be reviewed on an annual basis with existing board members and will be used as the basis for evaluating each board member and the Board as a whole. Specific board member responsibilities include (Numbered items do not imply importance or priority ): Along with the Executive Director, determine and execute the mission of Project AnimalAid. Provide governance to Project AnimalAid including reviewing and approving PAA’s strategic direction, annual budget, audit reports, and material business decisions while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Serve as a trusted advisor to the E.D. as he/she develops and implements PAA’s strategic direction. Monitor and review metrics developed around PAA’s annual budget to evaluate impact, performance and effectiveness. Contribute expertise and time to support the organization as a governing board member, including leadership development, strategic direction, and fiscal oversight. Participate each year in events or outings that reinforce understanding and commitment to the PAA mission, and support donor engagement and cultivation. Give what for you is a significant annual gift - one of the top three contributions you make - and commit to grow fundraising capabilities over time to meet and exceed all expectations for board member participation. Actively participate in building relationships between supporters/prospects and the organization. Be an active "friend-raiser" that leads to generous contributions. Attend board meetings and actively serve on committees or task forces. Hire, advise and annually evaluate the Executive Director. Communicate to the organization through the board chair, and through designated staff liaisons for committees. Ensure PAA's commitment to a diverse board and staff that reflects the communities PAA serves.

Volunteers will work with Project AnimalAid's Program Director to prepare boxes for shipment to U.S. and international non-profits that are working hands-on to provide veterinary care for animals in need. In addition, assistance with sorting and managing inventory, organization and possible computer work may be included.

Project AnimalAid accepts donated veterinary and medical equipment and supplies from veterinary hospitals, human hospitals, urgent care centers, ambulances, cosmetic surgery centers, pediatricians, dentists and many more. We need assistance in reaching out to businesses such as these to tell them about our work and to provide them with information about how to donate the supplies and equipment they're no longer using. Materials would be provided. Must be outgoing, friendly, organized, a great note taker, comfortable talking to people and incredibly polite. Computer research skills a plus. Thank you in advance!

The Project AnimalAid warehouse need a little love on it's surrounding property. The work is nothing major but includes collecting branches, clearing cobwebs, trimming trees and bushes that are overgrown (no climbing) and leaf clean-up. We'd love your help - thanks in advance!
