Contacted them for a volunteer opportunity and never received a reply. Apparently, they have enough volunteers.

Citizens for Conservation (CFC)is very knowledgeable about local (Barrington, Illinois) conservation issues and habitat restoration but they don't intimidate new volunteers with their expertise. They are welcoming to all and share their wealth of information when asked. Not only do they show you exactly what to do but also explain WHY it is being done. Education is a big part of all they do. Volunteering with CFC has given me a great deal of satisfaction because I know I've helped improve the natural environment in my community. I've also learned alot and it's fun!

Citizens for Conservation is about the easiest place for people to volunteer! All you really need to do is just show up on a work day, dressed for field work and ready to go. The regular crowd is friendly and you will learn a lot about native plants and the benefits of restoration to our planet. Bring your friends and family, bring work gloves, and show up as your schedule permits. There are lots of ways to support the important environmental work the mostly volunteer organization does even if outdoor work isn't your first choice.
