Spring/Summer Yard Chores for Seniors (Hennepin County)

Enjoy some fresh air and sunshine while helping older adults maintain "curb appeal" and keep their homes and property safe! Help with: Yard and garden clean-up, weeding Basic exterior maintenance and small painting projects Go solo or bond with family, friends and neighbors Youth ages 7 to 15 may volunteer with an adult. Ages 16 and older may volunteer on their own. Strengthen connections with your group Most group opportunities are best suited for teams of 4 - 6. If you have a larger group we'll split you into smaller teams and assign you to locations near one another to serve multiple seniors. Schools (elementary to college/university level) and home school groups Neighborhood associations and public services (police, fire, city council members, etc.) Lions and Rotary Clubs; American Legion Posts Faith communities Sororities and fraternities Scout troops & youth groups Corporations/businesses Sports teams We serve multiple cities throughout Hennepin County. Digital Handyperson-Brooklyn Park and Shakopee

The main role is to provide technology support and education to adults aged 60 and older. Duties and responsibilities: *Schedule and coordinate service jobs *Tasks include, but are not limited to device troubleshooting focused on smart phones, PCs, tablets/visual equipment and other technical devices. *Diagnose access and device needs and discuss options with participants *Provide expertise on various software applications and programs *This position involves daytime availability to manage tech "clinics" in Brooklyn Park and Shakopee. *Spanish speaking is a plus.

Snow removal for Seniors in Hennepin County

Winter has arrived and we have almost 200 seniors waiting for someone to help them clear the snow! Without a volunteer they might not be able get to their doctor appointments, receiving delivered medicine and meals. Additionally, snow removal can prevent slip and falls. We are a non-profit that helps Seniors, 60 and over, stay in the homes and communities that they love. Help us do this by providing volunteer snow shoveling for a Senior in your area. We pair you up with a Senior for the winter season. We also ask for the snow to be removed within 24 hours of the snowfall and we shovel when it is over 2 inches.
