Applicants can respond via VolunteerMatch or go to https://www.heavenlypawsofmi.org/ and complete a volunteer signup form Animal Rescue Non-Profit Organization Position Overview: The Returnables Coordinator plays an important leadership role in supporting our Animal Rescue mission by overseeing the Bottle/Can Collection and Redemption Program. This position helps generate funding for the organization while promoting sustainability and community engagement. The ideal candidate is passionate about animal welfare, environmentally conscious, and well organized. Key Responsibilities: * Oversee the collection and redemption of returnable bottle and can donations. * Identify and establish collection points in multiple communities/counties to maximize proceeds and expand participation. Collection points may include Animal Supply Retailers, Dog Groomers, Golf Courses, Volunteer Homes, Schools, and more. * Create plans and procedures for Collection locations, Pick-up frequencies, Redemption operations and Funds Management. * Recruit, train, and coordinate with volunteers to manage returnables collection and redemption. * Work with Social Media Management to promote the bottle and can returnables program through our supporters, local businesses, and community groups. * Maintain accurate records of returnable collections, revenue, and any pre-approved expenses for reporting purposes. Qualifications: * Must have Team Leadership experience. * Prior experience in non-profit operations, or volunteer management is preferred. * Self starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. * Must have a means of transportation. * Ability to lift and transport bags/boxes of returnables (<25 lbs.) as necessary. * Basic computer proficiency for tracking and reporting. This is a volunteer position. The volunteer needs to reside in Michigan. The Records Manager oversees the accurate and timely management of records related to animals under the care of Heavenly Paws of Michigan. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity of data for all rescued animals, including medical history and adoption status. The Records Manager works closely with the Management Team, Adoption and Foster Coordinators, Volunteers, and Veterinary Partners to maintain current and precise record keeping. The position involves: * Record-Keeping: Ensuring that all records for animals in rescue are up-to-date, including medical histories, behavioral assessments, and adoption status. * Coordination: Coordinating with Fosters to proactively schedule appointments for all required vet care. * Data Management: Managing data where all animal-related information is stored. This includes updating information as animals are brought into the rescue, medical care and adoption. * Tracking Progress: Keeping records of rescues, adoptions, and animal returns, which helps measure the organization's impact in the community. * Collaboration: Working with Veterinarians, Adoption Coordinator, Foster Coordinator and Volunteers to ensure smooth communication and accurate recording. And involves these opportunities for all leadership volunteers: * Event Support: Involves providing a range of services and assistance to ensure that an event runs smoothly and successfully. Whether for a fundraiser, community outreach, or an adoption event, event support covers planning, logistics, and onsite execution. * Project Support: Be open to ideas from others and ready to provide feedback and support. This creates a collaborative atmosphere where everyone feels empowered to contribute to the cause. Skills Needed: * Effective Communication Skills: Interacting with team members, volunteers, and veterinarians. * Attention to Detail: Precision is essential to maintaining accurate records. * Organizational Skills: To handle moderate volumes of data, while keeping all information systematically organized. * Familiarity with Microsoft and Google suite including strength in MS Excel, Google Mail and Google Drive. * Digitalization of Records: Transition paper records to digital formats where applicable, ensuring all data is backed up, and easily accessible. * Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with care. Time Commitment is approximately 25 hours per week. Position resides in Michigan. We are a 100% volunteer staffed, foster-based, canine and feline rescue and adoption organization with our principle rescues in Oakland County, Michigan. We have no shelter - all animals are cared for in the foster homes of our volunteers! We tirelessly strive for and envision the day where every adoptable companion animal has a loving, responsible home, where no animal will suffer from abuse, neglect or ignorance.
