Here is an opportunity to join the American Youth Literacy Foundation, an all- volunteer 501 c 3 charitable non-profit organization, founded in 2008 and dedicated to providing a gateway to a future in which all children, in every classroom in America, learn how to read by the end of 3rd grade. Our mission is to save millions of children from a lifetime of illiteracy and bring about true education parity in just a few years’ time by deploying the FUNetix(r) 12 Hour Reading App(tm) nationwide. With the FUNetix app, which is 100% free to download and use, any child can learn how to read in about 12 hours of total play time; and in America’s public schools today, there are millions of children who can’t read or are struggling to read, which has led to more than 20 million illiterate high school dropouts over the past 20 years. But it doesn’t have to be this way! We started in 2008 by taking a groundbreaking, science-based curriculum and proving that it can scale to reach and help thousands of children. Then, in 2020, during the pandemic, we created an app, based on our now patented reading curriculum, that takes kids from the ABC's to a 2nd grade reading level through an amazing journey that's fully narrated and tastefully animated, and gamified, just enough, to create an immersive, interactive environment that captures kids' attention and imagination and launches them to literacy in a fun and easy way. Our challenge now is to bring the app to millions of children who are not learning how to read in school, either because they are in schools that are failing or because they are in difficult situations at home for a variety of reasons. Right now, we are looking to expand our incredible Team FUNetix and we are looking for a skilled Video Production Editor . As a Video Production Editor, you will be responsible for assembling recorded film and video footage, applying artistic editing techniques and creating finished, broadcast-worthy projects that accurately reflect the vision of the Executive Director and the Video Production Team Leader. You'll manage material such as camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics and special effects to produce final video products. This is a key role in the post-production process, and your skills can determine the quality and delivery of FUNetix video clips. Our Community Outreach Team members are individuals with diverse backgrounds and with diverse interests and talents; but most of all, they are individuals who have a willingness and enthusiasm for reaching out into their communities to help children who can't read. So many people are suffering from illiteracy. Moms and dads don't know where to turn because schools are overwhelmed and kids aren't learning how to read, no matter how many years they attend our public schools. We simply need these parents and teachers to hear about FUNetix and give it a try. It's scientifically proven over 21 years of clinical trials to teach ANY child how to read in just 12 hours. The ideal Community Outreach volunteers are enthusiastic, responsible, caring and motivated, and have perhaps seen the challenges of illiteracy, low literacy and low education that are plaguing many of our communities, are outgoing, friendly, creative, and are willing to both talk to and listen to people as they engage in a variety of public awareness campaigns to bring the FUNetix app to families with children in need as well as teachers and schools. We are also always looking for new ideas and new ways to spread awareness in the community, which may include participating in street fairs or other events where parents and kids gather to hand out information and simple swag like balloons or silicone wristbands. This position requires someone equipped with a positive attitude and readiness to be a team player. Even though many of our campaigns are locally based, our organization is virtual, with more than 60 volunteers spread out across the country. All communication is virtual via slack, zoom and utilizing google shared folders. We are solving the literacy crisis in America in the next few years with the most AMAZING app in the world: FUNetix!
