Our direct delivery program started during March 2020, as a response to COVID. It continues till today because we found that seniors, and folks who have disabilities, are often impacted by COVID and now some of the other illnesses in ways that requires them to remain in isolation. Others, even working overburdened households, have serious transportation challenges, maybe they are in a witness protection program, however, for whatever reason, they are unable to independently source and pick up fresh, nutritious, culturally relevant food. We are raising funds to support this important service through sales of some of these boxes, which are also often delivered. All proceeds go directly toward the free box program for the folks who need this service. Each Thursday/Friday we send out 10-14 routes from East and North King County to East all of Snohomish County areas. The volunteer drivers use their own vehicles and gas and pick up the customized food boxes at our Snohomish location. They receive their route sheet with 10-20 stops ahead of time and take each box to the recipient at their provided address. When they get there, it is a no-contact delivery. As our appreciation, the volunteer drivers can also receive a customized food box from us. We cannot guarrantee, but when we have fuel card donations, we do provide such as well to the drivers. Routes we need volunteer driver support for are: Snohomish- Stanwood/Arlington this route is in serious need of drivers Snohomish- Seattle (Central and North) this route is in serious need of drivers Snohomish - Lynnwood Snohomish - Shoreline Snohomish - Everett Snohomish - Marysville Snohomish - Lake Stevens We ask that volunteer drivers sign our liability waiver form and show proof of insurance.

Farmer Frog had to move the farm from Paradise in Woodinville to BearGrass Farm in Snohomish. (the county decided to use Paradise as a parking expansion for the trails.) We are looking for passionate volunteers to help rebuild our farm at the new location. This beautiful site is larger than the old one was, but has no structures. Volunteers will help with putting up fences, hoophouses, raised beds, arbors, building the gardens, planting trees, shrubs, perennials and seeds at this amazing location, as well as help maintaining what we already got done by weeding, moving compost, spreading mulch, watering, harvesting, helping with livestock, and setting up aquaponic systems. No experience is necessary, we encourage you to bring your talents and tell us how you would like to help bring your community together around healthy, local food! If you work for a company who is looking for a team building opportunity, we also host small to very large groups. Generally we are open to the public 10-2 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during the week. We ask that people bring their own work gloves, food and water, wear sunscreen and closed toe shoes. See you soon! Please contact us today and let us know more about you and how you would like to get involved! We need help! Our farm is in full gear now as we grow a large variety and rescue fresh produce from other farmers amazing vegetables, all to distribute it all to our local food banks and community organizations. Our team is busy every day literally moving hundreds of thousands of pounds of food. We feed over a million Washingtonians. We have no time left to keep up with our beautiful spots and need help with the weed whacking and mowing of these areas. We hope to have volunteers who want to regularly schedule meadow and edge maintenance at our site. You can bring your own equipment or use ours. If we can schedule multiple people, everyone can do a reasonable size area in a reasonable time and no one gets overwhelmed with the task. Each area would need biweekly attention. The grass cut can be raked up and our geese will be very excited to gobble it up. We can tend to that part of job with our team members. PPE are required, if you have your own protective eyeglasses and ear muffs, you can use those or we can give you these as well for the periods you are working at the farm. Your help is so important, it enables our team to focus on sharing fresh food with the people in need. Please contact us for specific details on the schedule and we make sure you can do this as it fits your availability best.
