Volunteer Drivers for Food Box Delivery

ORGANIZATION: Farmer Frog

Our direct delivery program started during March 2020, as a response to COVID. It continues till today because we found that seniors, and folks who have disabilities, are often impacted by COVID and now some of the other illnesses in ways that requires them to remain in isolation. Others, even working overburdened households, have serious transportation challenges, maybe they are in a witness protection program, however, for whatever reason, they are unable to independently source and pick up fresh, nutritious, culturally relevant food.
We are raising funds to support this important service through sales of some of these boxes, which are also often delivered. All proceeds go directly toward the free box program for the folks who need this service.

Each Thursday/Friday we send out 10-14 routes from East and North King County to East all of Snohomish County areas. The volunteer drivers use their own vehicles and gas and pick up the customized food boxes at our Snohomish location. They receive their route sheet with 10-20 stops ahead of time and take each box to the recipient at their provided address.

When they get there, it is a no-contact delivery. As our appreciation, the volunteer drivers can also receive a customized food box from us. We cannot guarrantee, but when we have fuel card donations, we do provide such as well to the drivers.

Routes we need volunteer driver support for are:

Snohomish- Stanwood/Arlington this route is in serious need of drivers
Snohomish- Seattle (Central and North) this route is in serious need of drivers
Snohomish - Lynnwood
Snohomish - Shoreline
Snohomish - Everett
Snohomish - Marysville
Snohomish - Lake Stevens

We ask that volunteer drivers sign our liability waiver form and show proof of insurance.

About Farmer Frog

Location:

Snohomish County/East King County, SNOHOMISH, WA 98290, US

Mission Statement

Farmer Frog is Sprouting Simple Change. We grow kids, cultivate community and nurture habitat for all living things through real food.

Description

We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization serving thousands of people with free or low cost fresh food and hands on learning as we also protect the environment and wildlife 365 days a year. We help create, maintain and manage edible school gardens and small permaculture farms. We show educators how to use such spaces as outdoor classrooms to teach STEAM and we assist folks learning how to grow food in whatever space they have available in ecosystem friendly ways.

Our headquarters is in Snohomish. Our new BearGrass Farm will be opening soon to offer learning and gathering spaces, retreat and relaxing opportunities and is a demonstration site for several important programs including Bear With Me (our wildlife and predator friendly practices), Farmer Frog Studios (our art and film projects) and smart farming systems that include research and partnership with local higher education institutions. We host people from all walks of life, from schools through clubs and corporate teams, various cultural programs, immigrant communities, private gatherings, hands on classes, summer campers, NAMI programming, facilitator-led activities, juvenile releasees and community service oriented individuals.
