What Blood Products Services Courier Volunteers Do: As an OBI Courier, you’ll be responsible for delivering and retrieving unprocessed blood, blood products, donor samples, patient samples, derivatives, equipment, internal mail, displays, shipments, and supplies to and from hospitals, mobile units, sub-centers, clinics, doctor’s offices, and research facilities. What We’re Looking For: We need dedicated and responsible volunteers with a valid driver’s license and no points on your record. We require volunteers to be at least 21 years old. Driving history may be reviewed to ensure it meets OBI’s standards. Let’s keep our mission rolling safely and responsibly! Time Commitment: Courier volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 8 hours weekly. Volunteers are needed to help label empty blood bags for mobile blood drives. We have a lively group of volunteers who meet weekly on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to complete the blood bag numbering project. Blood donations cannot happen without the bags; therefore, this is a critical volunteer role that supports OBI’s lifesaving mission. What Blood Bag Crew Volunteers Do: Label empty blood bags according to Donor Services' Standard Operating Procedure for use throughout OBI’s service area in Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. Properly record and document donor identification numbers on a numbering bag log. What We’re Looking For: We need dedicated volunteers who can sit for a minimum of 4 hours in a comfortable setting. Good vision and finger dexterity are essential, along with a professional appearance. This role is perfect for those who enjoy working methodically and contributing to a vital cause. What Thank You Crew Volunteers Do: As a Thank You Crew volunteer, you will welcome and assist blood donors, embodying OBI’s commitment to outstanding service. You’ll oversee the donor sign-in process and monitor donor scheduling and flow. You’ll monitor donors in the refreshment area for any reactions and set up and distribute OBI promotions, including t-shirts and giveaways, to keep the energy high and spirits uplifted. You will distribute educational materials and promote OBI through engaging activities, like giveaways and special events. What We’re Looking For: We need friendly individuals with excellent communication skills who are attentive, dependable, and prompt. A willingness to engage with donors and a commitment to mobility are essential for this role.
