Music Volunteers needed for Hospice Patients

Volunteers are an essential part of the Compassionate Hospice Care team and have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their caregivers. Your time is needed and valued. Studies show music therapy can provide the following for all patients, but Alzheimer's and Dementia patients specifically: Emotional support Reduces anxiety Elevates mood Reduces loneliness and isolation Social support Relaxation and comfort Compassionate Hospice is seeking musicians and singers to join our volunteer team! No previous volunteer experience is necessary. Time commitment would be 1-2 hours per month, or more if you are available. These hours count towards volunteer requirements for educational or legal purposes.

Make a Meaningful Difference in the Lives of Hospice Patients & Families- Veteran Volunteers Wanted!

Your time is needed and valued. We offer a variety of ways to volunteer: Companionship: talking with a patient, reading, card games, writing letters. Caregiver respite: providing a break for a family member to take care of their own needs. Volunteer with your dog and provide pet therapy Sing or play an instrument for a patient and/or caregiver Provide Massage, Reiki or Comfort Touch Hospice administrative support Bereavement support Veterans, musicians, therapist are welcomed! No experience is required, just a willing and compassionate heart. Time commitment would be 1-2 hours per month, or more if you are available. These hours count towards volunteer requirements for educational or legal purposes.

Volunteer with Your Dog and Provide Comfort to a Hospice Patient

Volunteer with your dog and bring connection, joy and companionship to a patient's life as well as their caregiver. Pet Therapy provides: comfort unconditional love improved mood reduces anxiety raises spirits reduced physical pain lower blood pressure Your dog will need to be "Canine Good Citizen" certified and we provide resources for testing. No experience is required, just a willing and compassionate heart. Time commitment would be 1-2 hours per month, or more if you are available. These hours count towards volunteer requirements for educational or legal purposes.

Massage/Comfort Touch Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are an essential part of the Compassionate Hospice Care team and have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and their caregivers. Your time is needed and valued. Hospice patients would greatly benefit from the comfort and stress relief available through massage and healing touch. You could make a real difference in the quality of a patient's final days by providing Therapeutic Massage or Healing touch. Compassionate Hospice Care is interested in licensed massage therapists, Reiki practitioners, and certified healing touch providers to join our volunteer team! No previous volunteer experience is necessary. Time commitment would be 1-2 hours per month, or more if you are available. These hours count towards volunteer requirements for educational or legal purposes.

Description

Compassionate Hospice Care is looking for dedicated volunteers who desire to provide companionship and comfort to those receiving hospice care and offer tangible support to those caring for them.

No experience is necessary. Volunteers are provided with an interesting and practical orientation. Essential characteristics of an effective volunteer include compassion, dependability, trustworthiness, patience and flexibility.

If you have recently experienced the death of a loved one, you may serve administratively in our office but need to wait 13 months post your loss to serve as a companion to patients.
