The Pet Resource Center of Kansas City (PRCKC) is looking for people with excellent organizational skills, and/or a background in nursing or other medical work, to join our Surgical Support Prep team! PRCKC does a lot of important veterinary work through our Urgent Care, Dental Clinic, and high-volume Spay/Neuter Clinic. We are able to complete up to 80 spay/neuter surgeries a day! Our veterinary team has a high need for skilled volunteers to help clean, sanitize, organize and prepare surgical instruments. If you have a strong attention to detail, and the abaility to work efficiently and independently, our vet team would love to meet you. A background in nursing or other medical background is a plus!

Pet Resource Center of Kansas City holds a Pet Food Pantry twice a month (one Saturday and one Monday). Our Pet Food Pantry program provides basic pet supplies and pet food to pet owners in need in our community. All participants of our Pet Food Pantry are members of low-income households. Pet Food Pantry volunteers will help check clients into our Pet Food Pantry and assist with preparing and distributing pantry donations to clients. This is a great, direct way to help those in your community! This opportunity is open to individuals and small groups of no more than 5.

The Pet Resource Center of Kansas City (PRCKC) is looking for physically active people to join our Pet Runner team! Opportunities are available weekdays and Saturdays. Veterinary services at our clinic and at our offsite events are done drive-thru style, meaning clients drive up and stay in their cars while their pet sees the vet. The get pets safely in and out of cars and in to see the vet, we need Pet Runners! As a Pet Runner, you'll learn proper animal handling techniques and you'll give pet owners their payment info, pet health info, and any items they purchased (rabies tags, flea/tick meds, etc.) If you like being physically active, meeting new people, and spending time with cute dogs and cats, this could be a great fit for you!

PRCKC has gone mobile! Each Wednesday our mobile vaccination team visits a different Westlake Ace Hardware to provide low-cost pet vaccinations. We also have resources like pet food, leashes, and collars available to anyone in need. Help our team provide great customer service, take payment, distribute resources, and get lots of puppy kisses too! If a volunteer cannot work the entire day that is ok, shifts are welcome. These events run from 10am-2pm. Pet Resource Center of Kansas City exists to help ALL pet owners in Kansas City, but we can't do that as effectively without your help. We have excellent bilingual staff, but are very much in need of bilingual Spanish-speaking volunteers to help in our clinic and with special events that take place in primarily Hispanic communities throughout the KC metro. The opportunities and events you can choose to help with are almost endless! From working at the check-in desk at our clinic, to running an information booth at a local festival or community fair, there are all kinds of ways to get involved and improve the lives of local pets. With your help, we can expand our services and provide more opportunities for Spanish-speaking families to connect with us. Whether you share info about our vaccination services, pet food pantry, training classes, or other resources, you'll be helping families access much-needed services and supplies to care for their pets. To join our volunteer program, you must be at least 14 years of age, and must commit to volunteering 3 hours each month.
