The Connecticut Alzheimer's Association recognizes caregivers, honors loved ones lost, and provides support to families and individuals who are facing the challenges of Alzheimer's disease. As a Walk to End Alzheimer's Committee Member, you can assist with planning the event on one of many levels. You might be involved in overall event planning, or you can assist with retention, marketing and communications, sponsorship, or fundraising! *New members are welcome to join any time throughout the year. Committee meetings are held approximately once a month January - December. Subcommittees may meet separately as needed. In an effort to grow The Longest Day in the Connecticut Chapter, we are organizing a group of passionate volunteers to form an Engagement Committee. The purpose of this committee is to: Grow the reach of TLD by recruiting at least three (3) team leads Help connect TLD leads from across the chapter to provide support and maximize potential Provide input on fundraising challenges for participants Members of the TLD Engagement Committee: Attend a one-hour virtual meeting bi-monthly Cultivate relationships with Fundraising Leaders and provide coaching and ideas on how to raise funds, recruit team members, and plan their day Participate in event-specific focus groups to help team leads brainstorm and troubleshoot (e.g. golf, pickleball, etc.) Engage TLD participants throughout the year by making retention and welcome phone calls, and/ or writing thank-you notes Promote TLD on social media and in the community in addition to their personal TLD fundraiser Provide honest feedback to TLD Staff to grow TLD Contact ctchapter@alz.org for more information!

The Alzheimer's Association's office is located in Southington, CT and is open to the public. The Connecticut Alzheimer's Association office is always looking for volunteers who enjoy being task-oriented, have excellent organization skills, and a positive attitude! Activities conducted at our office include: planning and coordinating fundraising activities and events, organizing office supplies, assisting with mailings, undertaking general administrative duties such as photocopying, filling and laminating, and other misc. office tasks. As an office volunteer, you get to choose the activities you want to do in your local Alzheimer's Association office. Staying social and keeping your brain active is good for brain health. Help us raise awareness for the care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
