Foster Homes Needed for our Second Chance Dogs!

This requires general care of the dog, working to assess his/her behaviors, providing basic training skills for good dog behavior, and being able to show the dog to prospective adopters. Knowledge of Goldens and their behavioral needs, securely fenced yard, ability to communicate effectively with GRRAND representatives and prospective adopters, and ability to assess the suitability of a family to adopt the foster dog. Knowledge of GRRAND's policies and procedures is required and the foster family must be vigilant about the safety of the dog. GRRAND Adoption/Foster Application Screening - Lexington Area

Each adoption/foster application that GRRAND receives is screened by one of our volunteers. The application screening volunteer will assess the application to determine if the family meets GRRAND adoption requirements. The volunteer will also contact the 3 references to determine the care the family provides to current or previous pets. Finally, the volunteer will contact the applicant's vet to assess previous vet care. Once the volunteer reviews the application, they will send the information obtained to the volunteer coordinator. The application screening activity can all be done from home. Once the volunteer accepts an application to screen, we ask that it is completed as soon as possible in order to prevent losing the applicant to another rescue. Golden Retriever Rescue and Adoption of Needy Dogs (GRRAND) mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home Goldens and needy dogs that have been abandoned, abused, or neglected along with those who are the victims of changed life circumstances such as financial hardship, divorce, allergies, relocation, illness, or death.

Description

We rescue golden retrievers, golden mixes, and other needy dogs and provide both medical care and if needed behavioral training prior to placing them in screened adoptive homes. We have a presence in the greater areas of Louisville, Lexington, Cincinnati, and Dayton.

I enjoy transporting dogs that are in need of moving to a new location to help them to get to their forever home.
