Are you gifted with building partnerships, organizing information, and working with people? Volunteer with Ballet Fantastique's Development team, which sources, establishes, and maintains relationships between area businesses and Ballet Fantastique's sparkling educational and scholarship programs. The Development Assistant will distribute "Invest in the Arts" letters and in-kind donation opportunity FAQ's, follow-up with phone-calls or visits, and will build support for Ballet Fantastique fundraising activities, like our Escrip program or our first annual "Night in Casablanca" gala this fall, and other fundraising events throughout the year. Direct experience with development and a network of community contacts are a huge plus, but can be acquired on the job!

We need you! In addition to building a team of volunteers to poster a route of local businesses for important Ballet Fantastique academy events, Ballet Fantastique is currently seeking a well-versed local to create "routes" of no more than one hour for future volunteers. (We also need you to help us convince area businesses to pre-agree to join us as a consistent Ballet Fantastique poster-hanging location.) Volunteers put up the posters within a week of receiving them, and receive a free ticket to any upcoming performance.

Virtual Opportunity
Ballet Fantastique's Grant Writer team is absolutely vital to establishing a strong arts presence in our area. Grant Writers track down profiles for community-level foundations, state, and federal grant sources, identifying good matches between sources and Ballet Fantastique's critically-acclaimed education, outreach, and concert programs. Next, Writers meet with the Executive Director to target specific grants before writing and applying for funding. Areas of interest for grants include innovative upcoming performances and collaborations, our Rising Star Scholarship Program, capacity building for the EXPERIENCE DANCE! Project and for our chamber ballet company (the only of its kind and a crucial performance outlet for young professional dancers in our area), and educational/outreach programming. You'll be best matched for this position if you enjoy writing and researching and have some experience with grant writing. Those with no experience are welcome to develop this very marketable skill by working with a more experienced staff member on grants. Much of the work can be completed at home on your own schedule.
