Volunteer Opportunity: Student Internships - Experience Equine Assisted Services! At the American Therapeutic Riding Center (ATRC) Join us for a Field Site Internship focused on Equine Assisted Services (therapeutic riding). As an intern, you'll assist a certified PATH instructor and staff during 30-minute therapeutic riding sessions (from mount to dismount), while also providing arena and barn assistance. Who Should Apply? This internship is perfect for students pursuing careers in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech therapy, elementary education, counseling, social work, business, marketing, social media, and more. We are a 501c3 non-profit organization. We are always looking for folks who love to have fun, creative, laugh a lot and want to do something that helps to serve individuals through equine assisted services and help to change quality of life for the entire family. In the past we have hosted good ole western rodeos, barn yard sales, partnered with Kendra Scott Jewlery and more. Many of our local crafters have also crafted items and donated them to whatever event that we might have in progress. If you are interested in helping out, please let us know. Proceeds from fund raisers benefit our clients and help to maintain health care to our wonderful service team of horses. We appreciate any and all help! We always welcome Scout projects (Eagle / Gold Award). We love having the opportunity to collaborate with a scout to help meet a need we have and they hit all of their goals to secure their scout badge(s). Past Eagle Scout projects have included: Vaulting stretching barrels with handles, an outdoor picnic table and guests benches, outdoor bench seating, activity stand, outdoor covered seating area, etc. We are always in need of additional activities for our clients and guests to enjoy and enhance their therapeutic experience at The American Therapeutic Riding Center. Volunteer Opportunity: Side Walker - Help Support Riders in 30-Minute Equine Therapy Sessions! At the American Therapeutic Riding Center (ATRC) Join us as a Side Walker! In this role, you'll assist a certified PATH instructor and staff to support client riders in equine therapy riding sessions. Each session lasts 30 minutes, and we are flexible on your volunteering time. Experience is great but not required - we’ll provide all the training you need! As a Side Walker, you'll walk alongside riders, ensuring their safety and offering encouragement. You'll also have the chance to learn to lead horses or help in the barn, if you're interested in additional ways to help. We always have projects that can be completed by a group. Opportunities: Fence painting and/or repair, area cleaning (barn, runs, stalls, ceilings, in door arena, tack, decorating for Christmas, tearing down from Christmas, etc.).
