Position Title: Director of Cat Rescue Program (Volunteer, Non-Paid) Reports to: The Board of Directors Goals: Advocate for animals who cannot speak for themselves. Promote the core values of the Fayette Humane Society (FHS), including the importance of spaying and neutering. Maintain strong relationships with Fayette County Animal Control, the Fayette County Board of Commissioners, local veterinarians, PetSmart management, and any affiliated organizations where events are held. Position Function & Organizational Impact: Oversee day-to-day decision-making within the Cat Program, addressing issues referred by Coordinators and Leads. Develop program strategies for Board approval. Submit a budget for the Cat Program to the Board annually. Represent FHS and its mission at fundraising events, chamber events, Rotary events, and other community engagements. Core Responsibilities: This all-volunteer, unpaid position includes the following key responsibilities: Manage and oversee Cat Program activities and decisions. Recruit and train volunteers for critical roles, including: Cat Program Intake Coordinator Cat Program Foster Coordinator Cat Program Medical Coordinator Uphold and promote FHS policies and principles, proposing changes as needed. Maintain accurate animal records in our management software. Adhere to and promote PetSmart Adoption Guidelines while fostering a positive relationship with store management. Ensure internal guidelines and procedures are followed, addressing any issues as they arise. Communicate directly with veterinarians as needed. Respond to phone messages and handle inquiries appropriately. Complete administrative tasks, documenting animals from arrival to adoption, including foster care and veterinary care. Maintain comprehensive records of animals and fosters. Oversee foster placements, inspections, and records. Collaborate with Animal Control for animal transfers. Organize and lead volunteer meetings. Qualifications/Requirements: Active volunteer with the Fayette Humane Society. Minimum age of 25 with at least 3 years of volunteer service with FHS. Warm, friendly, and enthusiastic personality. Comfortable interacting with cats and the public. Strong communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively. Knowledgeable about FHS and able to represent the organization with integrity and trust. Commitment to the philosophy and policies of Fayette Humane Society as outlined in the FHS Volunteer Handbook. Regular access to email and social media for updates and communication. Computer literate and proficient with Google Applications. Experience in shelter management is preferred. Ability to multi-task and stay detail-oriented. Strong knowledge of animal care and behavior. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Time Commitment and Location of Work: 15-20 hours per week once the team is staffed and the program is running smoothly. Volunteer meeting locations and Peachtree City PetSmart.

Position Title: Volunteer Program Director (Volunteer, Non-Paid) Reports to: The Board of Directors Goals: Ensure the Volunteer Program effectively trains and mentors new and prospective FHS volunteers. Ensure all volunteers successfully complete orientation and any prescribed safety courses. Place prospective volunteers within the FHS organization based on their skills, capacity, and interests. Position Function & Organizational Impact: Keep the FHS Board of Directors informed of program progress and issues and recommend changes to program strategy. Submit a budget for the Cat Program to the Board annually. Oversee and make decisions regarding the functioning and daily activities of the Volunteer Program. Core Responsibilities: Engage and onboard new volunteers. Oversee volunteer orientation programs. Oversee the training and mentoring of FHS prospective volunteers. Supervise volunteer placement within the FHS organization. Manage volunteer metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting efforts. Oversee the volunteer application process. Conduct program staff meetings as needed. Maintain a registry of volunteer contact information, skills, abilities, and areas of interest. Ensure volunteers comply with mandated training and release of liability requirements. Qualifications/Requirements: Must be an active volunteer with FHS. Must be at least 21 years of age. Dedicated to the guiding principles and policies of FHS as outlined in the Volunteer Handbook. Time Commitment and Location of Work: 4-8 hours per week. Remote work as needed.

Reports to: The Board of Directors Goals: Be the Voice for animals that cannot speak for themselves, promoting FHS values including the importance of spay and neuter. Manage finances of the FHS organization Position Function & Organizational Impact: Serve 3 year terms which are appointed or re-elected by Board of Directors vote Act in a fiduciary capacity to manage FHS’s finances Core responsibilities: Attend scheduled Volunteer and Board Meetings. Support and promote FHS philosophy, policies and procedures as set out in the FHS Handbook Ensure our organization is in compliance with all rules and regulations of our governing entities, such as the Department of Agriculture. Make sure that FHS internal guidelines, policies and procedures are being followed, and address non-compliance or issues with the parties involved. Collect and record funds received by FHS from fundraisers, personal and corporate donations. Prepare and distribute receipts to donors. Pay FHS invoices such as veterinary bills, insurance premiums, and any FHS licenses required in a timely fashion. Purchase foster supplies on an as needed basis. Manage financial accounting for the organization, ensuring all receipts and disbursements are recorded and all FHS accounts are reconciled. Prepare FHS tax preparation documentation for accountant. Qualifications/Requirements: Must have solid bookkeeping / accounting and computer skills Must have experience with Quickbooks Online Must have experience with Google Applications Must be willing to be an active Fayette Humane Society volunteer. Must be at least 25 years of age with 3 years of active volunteer service with FHS or other rescue organization; exceptions may be approved by the Board of Directors Warm, friendly, enthusiastic personality Commitment to the FHS philosophy, policies and procedures as set out in the FHS Volunteer Handbook CPA experience a plus Location of Work: Work can be done at home, with trips to local post office to collect mail. Meeting are held locally but will vary as to exact location.
