Park Ambassador volunteers provide visibility and assistance in Three Rivers Parks and on regional trails. They are welcome to volunteer on foot, bike, cross country ski, in-line skate or horseback. Main Responsibilities: - Greet and welcome park and trail users - Provide accurate information about parks, trails and rules - Document and report any maintenance needs and safety concerns Commitment: 10 hours or 1 year volunteering. Ambassadors must complete an orientation and training. Qualifications: - strong communication skills - able to volunteer independently - able to communicate and interact with people of all ages, abilities and cultures - ability to speak other languages a plus, but not required.

THREE RIVERS PARK PATROL Bike, hike, cross-country ski, snowshoe, in-line skate, or horseback ride and help park guests! Required training is held in fall and spring and includes: new patroller orientation, CPR, first aid, patrol simulations and bi-annual meetings. Park patrollers must be 16 years or older (horseback patrollers must be 18 years or older and own their own horse), physically fit, and intermediately skilled in their chosen mode of patrolling. Training: training dates are set each year for spring and fall sessions, typically April and October. Help keep winter recreators safe on the hill with this high demand, high reward volunteer role. Three Rivers Alpine Ski Patrol is a highly trained, regionally and nationally recognized group of volunteers. Patrollers must commit to a minimum of 60 hours each winter season, successfully complete and pass extensive initial training in emergency care and patrol skills as well as annual refreshers, and maintain membership and current certifications with National Ski Patrol. Help guests in need. Gain new skills with advanced level continuing education, hands-on experience, and leadership opportunities. And earn alpine area and other Three Rivers volunteer privileges! The candidate class fills fast; however, highly motivated, enthusiastic skiers and boarders are encouraged to apply and participate in the annual "Tryout Day". Hyland Ski & Snowboard Area in Bloomington and the Elm Creek Winter Recreation Area in Maple Grove (which also includes a tubing hill).

Three Rivers Park District hosts a number of teen leadership crews such as the Silverwood Teen Arts Council, Counsellors in Training, and more! Each crew supports a different topic or park/geography. From caring for animals to helping with day camps to learning about art and nature, volunteering in the parks will help you gain leadership skills, life skills, and job skills! Plus, you might just have fun while you're at it. The crews are generally open to those age 12-19 (each crew has it's own requirements). Training included.
