NMCRS Thrift Shop Contributors needed on Tuesdays from 9:00 am-1:00 pm and Tuesdays from 2:30 pm - 5:30 pm. Core responsibilities: collect, sort and display donated items. Want to make a positive contribution while serving Sailors, Marines and their families? Then this is the volunteer opportunity for you! Duties include: Greet customers, collect, sort, and display donated items. Arrange items in the sales area, designate items not suitable for sale or recalled and remove from the Thrift Shop. Adhere to NMCRS Thrift Shop policies, procedures and guidelines and comply with established pricing structure and NMCRS internal control procedures. Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) Pensacola is looking for committed volunteers to work between 6 and 16 hours per week as financial caseworkers during our office hours. NMCRS Caseworkers work with our military members and their families assessing their financial needs, completing and analyzing personal budgets, developing spending plans, helping the client access resources, and assisting them with interest free loans, grants, and other Society resources. A caseworker is an ambassador and advocate for the client who works to help meet his/her immediate financial needs. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Analyze client requests for financial assistance Assist clients in creating a personal spending plan for their family Assist clients in accessing area resources and programs to help with needs Collaborate with staff members and experienced caseworkers to determine the best course of action for assistance Provide financial assistance within casework policies Maintain compassion, confidentiality, and professionalism at all times QUALIFICATIONS Commit to a minimum of 6 hours per week Complete NMCRS Orientation and On the job training Basic computer skills to include knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Ability to learn NMCRS software Ability to present a professional, friendly, and objective demeanor with clients Ability to actively listen and effectively communicate in English Be able to work with variety of client, volunteer, and staff personalities BENEFITS Build your resume Childcare and mileage reimbursed Learn how to interview active duty and retired military clients Learn the military pay system Gain knowledge of area resources dedicated to military families Opportunity to positively impact quality of life for NMCRS clients Must have military, dependent or military retiree ID with military base access.

Give back to military service members and their families by volunteering with the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society! Our Client Services Assistants maintain our front desk, provide customer service, perform various business administration tasks, answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and process small loan applications. Training is provided for all volunteers. Build your skills in teambuilding, customer service, business administration, and leadership and grow your knowledge of the military pay system and local resources. Some military knowledge preferred, but not required. This is a great match for anyone looking to build their resumes, enhance their skills, and make new connections! We rely on our volunteers to make giving back to our service members and their families possible! Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society-Pensacola operates Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. After-hour and weekend volunteer opportunities are limited.

The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society is a private, non-profit, charitable organization. As a Center of Excellence, we exist solely to support the active and retired communities of the Naval Service. Located at approximately 241 offices ashore and afloat throughout the world, the Society's work is accomplished mainly by its 3,000 dedicated, trained, and caring Volunteers who are supported by a small cadre of paid employees.
