The name of this organization is "After the Home Stretch" Every X race horse deserves a forever home. This opportunity is for anyone who would like to help a retired thoroughbred race horse get reconditioned, retrained and adopted to their forever home and family. Volunteer interactions with the horses play a crucial role because many of the horses need to learn socialization skills, not only with humans, but with other horses. They need to learn how to be just a horse again. The horses are rehabilitated if injured, and retained to a discipline suited for their injury, age and character. Trail riding, dressage and jumpers are some of the disciplines that they are retained for. Opportunities at the ranch include, feeding, watering, corral mucking, grooming, turnouts in the arena, fund raising and social media outlets. Clinics are held once a month. Topics include, proper grooming, handling a horse during turnouts, anatomy and supplements to name a few. Please come out and join us,we would love to have you as a part of our team.
