About After The Homestretch - Arizona

Location:

Mailing address: 1328 E Maddock Road, Phoenix, AZ 85086, US

Mission Statement

Mission: After The Homestretch-Arizona provides rest, rehabilitation, and retraining for Arizona ex-racehorses with the goal of finding them loving, adoptive non-racing homes. Philosophy: Racehorses were bred to be fine athletes with a lot of heart and intelligence. These horses have proved to be very versatile by excelling in other disciplines such as dressage, jumping, pleasure riding, trail, and show competitions as well as becoming excellent companions. They just need a chance to find that second career and a new life after their racing careers have ended ... "after the homestretch."

Description

We are an "all-volunteer" organization with a 5-member Board of Directors. We depend on our volunteers to help with the feeding and care of the horses. To date we have rescued 61 former racehorses and have adopted 42 to new families. We currently have 19 horses at our ranch at 1328 E Maddock Road, Phoenix 85086.

We are a public charity supported by generous donations of talent, time, and money of individuals who also wish to guarantee these equine athletes are given the chance at a new career and a new home.
