Weekday Meals On Wheels Drivers are our MOST in-need volunteer position! Our meals drivers go to a central location to pick up the meals to be delivered for their routes. These routes are located in Elk Grove Village at the Kenneth Young Center and Elk Grove High School, and in Schaumburg at the Schaumburg Barn Senior Center. Each driver delivers anywhere from 8 to 15 meals during their route (i.e., if there is a singular drop-off point, as in an apartment complex, more meals may be delivered). Routes are generally kept around the Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, and Elk Grove Township areas. Deliveries are done on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and typically take from 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. You can choose if there is a specific day that works best for you, and which town is best for you to drive in, and we always try to accommodate. Deliver hot meals to older adults in need! We need volunteer drivers for Monday, Wednesday and Friday. You do not have to work every shift. Each shift is between 1- 2 hours depending on size of route. Shifts begin from 10am-1130am. Volunteers can choose from being a substitute driver to having a regular shift and route each week. We are very accommodating!

As a MONEY MANAGEMENT Volunteer, you will assist an Older Adult client with basic budgeting, check-writing or other financial tasks. Help is needed in Elk Grove and Schaumburg Township areas. Volunteers must be available to serve during normal weekday, business hours. This opportunity asks a volunteer to make a commitment to serve for at least 9 months and able to offer at least four to ten hours per month. Volunteers must be at least 21 years old, possess over five years professional experience in business, finance, and/or accounting, and they must live within a five to seven mile radius of Elk Grove and Schaumburg Townships.
