Weekday Meals On Wheels Drivers are our MOST in-need volunteer position!
Our meals drivers go to a central location to pick up the meals to be delivered for their routes. These routes are located in Elk Grove Village at the Kenneth Young Center and Elk Grove High School, and in Schaumburg at the Schaumburg Barn Senior Center.
Each driver delivers anywhere from 8 to 15 meals during their route (i.e., if there is a singular drop-off point, as in an apartment complex, more meals may be delivered). Routes are generally kept around the Schaumburg, Arlington Heights, Hoffman Estates, and Elk Grove Township areas. Deliveries are done on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and typically take from 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. You can choose if there is a specific day that works best for you, and which town is best for you to drive in, and we always try to accommodate.
Please inquire to learn more about how you can improve the lives of our older adult clients!
