Position Title: Volunteer Generosity Bus Program Team Leader Location: Remote Time Commitment: Flexible, minimum commitment 6 months Description: Join YesLiberia as a Volunteer Team Leader for our Generosity Bus Program to help us manage our service for empowering youth and fostering positive change in Liberia. YesLiberia is dedicated to providing access to educational opportunities, providing leadership educational trips, promoting gender equality, and supporting sustainable development initiatives in communities across Liberia. As a volunteer-driven organization, we rely on passionate and talented individuals like you to help us effectively serve the youth of Liberia and improve our programs. This is a 100% volunteer role for residents living in Liberia . Responsibilities MUST be available to ride along on the bus while students are transported, at least three days a week (7am to 9am and 2pm to 4pm) Create a secure and organized environment on school bus; ensure safety of students during bus rides; and assist the bus driver in maintaining order on the bus Enforce existing bus rules and professionally address behavioral issues Help younger students with seatbelts and getting on/off the bus safely Where necessary, compile weekly bus reports detailing any incidents, accidents, or concerns Analyze suggestions and feedback from students from suggestion box on the bus Suggest and implement changes or improvements based on students' inputs to enhance the bus experience and child safety policy Ensure the "Volunteer Lessons Topics" (GivingEveryTuesday approach) is implemented and evaluated weekly Help capture accurate and up-to-date students and parents; communicate updates to parents through direct phone calls, text message, WhatsApp, Google Sheets, and/or Google Doc Lead and inspire other bus monitors to effectively execute the mission of the Generosity Bus Utilize our upcoming Bus App to facilitate students pickup and drop off, reporting, bus monitors signup, and learning activities Requirements Previous experience in volunteer coordination or team leadership. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team. Proficiency in Google Sheets for record-keeping and data management. Passion for humanitarian work and making a positive impact in underprivileged communities. MUST have access to reliable internet and WhatsApp for prompt communications and remote collaborations. Ability to maintain regular communications with other volunteers and leadership with updates, guidance, and support as needed. As a board member, you’ll join an existing team to help direct us with the following: Participate in the conversations during our virtual meetings (one-hour conference calls every 30 days). Help develop and implement strategies for our programs and operations. Vote on issues discussed and hold the Board Chair accountable to the bylaws. Make personal contributions to support the cause or share networks and open doors for the organization, inviting others to contribute. We’re looking for video animators who would be interested in doing three to six separate animated videos. This project is ideal for those with excellent animation skills and wants to use their skills to do something good (idealist). If you that type of person, then we want to hear from you. The animation will focus on interpreting issues and challenges in developing countries, possible solutions to those challenges, spreading the word videos, and promo videos on social and cultural issues in the developing world. The animations will be about two minutes to 6minutes long or even shorter. We will develop and provide the script/ideas and you will be given the freedom to apply your creative skill. You may even help to develop the content in certain instances. Here comes the good part. This is a intern work but it will definitely be a strong portfolio material. There are perks. Your work will be seen by people in new markets but it will also directly impact the lives of many people who are living in dire conditions. The project will provide you with content, so you can focus on doing what you do best: drawing and animating. Third, the project will challenge you, in fact, you many feel like Superman or Superwoman. Fourth, and most importantly, the project will be very fun. You may end up asking for more. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a talent for storytelling through photography. This role involves capturing both scheduled and spontaneous moments of our various programs and activities, contributing to our mission by visually documenting our impact.This position is ONLY for candidates currently residing in Liberia. Responsibilities: Capture high-quality photographs of YesLiberia’s programs and activities, including: Bus transportation of students Scholarship students in their educational environments Interactions between students and parents Engagements with team members and volunteers Take both scheduled and scripted photos as well as candid, random shots to authentically document our work. Use YesLiberia’s tablets and phones for photography purposes. Attend and photograph various YesLiberia’s events and activities as scheduled. Coordinate with program managers to understand the key moments and objectives for photo documentation. Organize and manage a digital library of photos. Edit and enhance photos as necessary to ensure high-quality presentation. Collaborate with the communications team to provide photos for social media, website, and promotional materials. Requirements: Must be a resident of Monrovia, Liberia. Proven experience in photography, with a portfolio demonstrating the ability to capture both posed and candid moments. Familiarity with using tablets and smartphones for photography. Basic photo editing skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
