Mission Statement

Our Mission is to improve the reading, English language, math and digital literacy skills of adults in Central New York. Our trained volunteers support participants in achieving their personal goals to fully participate in the community as citizens, parents, consumers and workers.

Description

Through the use of one-to-one tutoring, small group classes, conversation groups, drop-in or appointment-based computer help, and online learning tools and resources LiteracyCNY uses volunteers to help members of the community to increase their skills in reading, math, English language, and digital literacy so that they are able to fully engage in life as parents, workers, consumers, and citizens.

Please note: All volunteers must be at least 18 years old, fluent in English, and have completed high school or the equivalent. Tutoring opportunities are available in Onondaga County. Digital Literacy Volunteer opportunities are available in Onondaga, Madison, Oneida, and Herkimer Counties.
