At NP Learning, we are dedicated to promoting educational equality and closing the learning gap by offering free, high-quality tutoring to students in need. Inspired by open educational platforms like Khan Academy and MIT OpenCourseware, we believe that every child, regardless of their background or financial situation, deserves access to quality education. Our diverse network of volunteers shares knowledge across a wide range of subjects, fostering a vibrant, inclusive learning community. By providing personalized support, we aim to empower learners, inspire potential, and ensure that no student is left behind in their educational journey. Description
NP Learning is a non-profit volunteer organization committed to making quality education accessible for all. Inspired by platforms like Khan Academy, we aim to reduce the education gap by providing free tutoring to students in need. Our mission is to empower learners from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that every child can access the support they deserve.
Our tutoring sessions are flexible, with volunteers choosing their own schedules, as long as they can commit at least 2 hours. Each session includes:
- Q&A: Addressing questions from schoolwork or practice.
- Instruction: Teaching problem-solving techniques and critical thinking through real-world examples.
- Practice: Optional homework that can be reviewed in the next session.
We currently offer math tutoring for grades 3 to 8 in English and Mandarin, covering basic help, problem-solving, and advanced topics like AMC-8. As more volunteers join, we will expand our subject offerings.
Tutoring takes place online, but we are exploring in-person options as we grow. To measure our impact, we track students' academic performance before and after they receive tutoring, allowing us to continually refine our approach.
