Are you passionate about education and eager to make a real difference? NP Learning is looking for dedicated volunteers to help bridge the educational gap by offering free tutoring to students in need. Whether you're driven by the desire to help others or believe in educational equality, this is a perfect opportunity!

We welcome tutors from all subject areas, both academic (e.g., math, science, literature) and non-academic (e.g., music, art, etc.). As NP Learning grows, your skills will help us expand and reach more students.

The schedule is entirely flexible! You decide when to tutor, based on your availability. There are no strict commitments-you can volunteer when it fits your schedule, and you can be involved in as many sessions as you want, as long as you’re available for at least 2 hours per session.

As an NP Learning volunteer, you will:

  • Provide free, high-quality tutoring to students in need.
  • Help reduce educational inequality in your community.
  • Receive a volunteer certificate upon request.

We're looking for volunteers who:

  • Are college-educated or current college students.
  • Have a passion for helping others and closing the education gap.
  • Can commit to tutoring for at least 2 hours per session. (The schedule is entirely based on volunteers' schedule and intention)
  • Can provide proof of tutoring ability:
    • For academic subjects: A GPA of A or higher in the subject you wish to tutor, or a related college major.
    • For non-academic subjects: Certificates or proof of expertise in your field.

Join us at NP Learning, where you can make an impact on your own time, at your own pace!

Mission Statement

At NP Learning, we are dedicated to promoting educational equality and closing the learning gap by offering free, high-quality tutoring to students in need. Inspired by open educational platforms like Khan Academy and MIT OpenCourseware, we believe that every child, regardless of their background or financial situation, deserves access to quality education. Our diverse network of volunteers shares knowledge across a wide range of subjects, fostering a vibrant, inclusive learning community. By providing personalized support, we aim to empower learners, inspire potential, and ensure that no student is left behind in their educational journey. Together, we are shaping a future where education is truly for all.

Description

NP Learning is a non-profit volunteer organization committed to making quality education accessible for all. Inspired by platforms like Khan Academy, we aim to reduce the education gap by providing free tutoring to students in need. Our mission is to empower learners from diverse backgrounds, ensuring that every child can access the support they deserve.

Our tutoring sessions are flexible, with volunteers choosing their own schedules, as long as they can commit at least 2 hours. Each session includes:

  • Q&A: Addressing questions from schoolwork or practice.
  • Instruction: Teaching problem-solving techniques and critical thinking through real-world examples.
  • Practice: Optional homework that can be reviewed in the next session.

We currently offer math tutoring for grades 3 to 8 in English and Mandarin, covering basic help, problem-solving, and advanced topics like AMC-8. As more volunteers join, we will expand our subject offerings.

Tutoring takes place online, but we are exploring in-person options as we grow. To measure our impact, we track students' academic performance before and after they receive tutoring, allowing us to continually refine our approach.

Join NP Learning as a volunteer or student and be part of a community committed to making education free and accessible to all.
