Your presence can bring comfort, joy, and a sense of connection to those in their final stages of life. Why volunteer with us? -- We offer mileage reimbursements for visiting volunteers -- We have monthly social gatherings for volunteer support -- Volunteering is good for your health! - Volunteer training is available live in our office or online to fit your schedule What You'll Do: ●Spend quality time with hospice patients through conversation, reading, or simply being there. ●Offer emotional support and a listening ear. ●Engage in activities that bring joy and comfort to patients. Requirements: ●A kind and empathetic nature. ●Commitment to regular visits. ●Ability to listen and communicate effectively. Training Provided: ● Comprehensive Orientation: Learn about hospice care, the role of a volunteer, and the impact you can make. ● Communication Skills: Training in effective communication techniques, active listening, and providing emotional support. ● Patient Interaction: Guidance on how to engage with patients, including those with diverse needs and conditions. ● Self-Care: Tips and resources to ensure you take care of your own emotional well-being while volunteering. ● Ongoing Support: Access to a supportive community of fellow volunteers and staff for continuous learning and encouragement. - Proof of vacinations required by state, MMR, Shingles, flu and a negative TB test(we provide) Together, we can make a difference, one visit at a time.
