Light Housekeeping for Hospice patients Allelon Hospice is looking for a compasionate person to help hospice patients and caregivers with light housekeeping duties. Hospice patients are at the end-of-life and many family members who care for them may not be able to keep up with the cleaning. A volunteer comes along and assists these patients/caregivers with some of the lighter duties. Duties could include: Dusting Vacuuming/sweeping Dishes Wiping doen counters and sinks NO bathrooms or scrubbing floors Time commitment: One patient ususally requires 2 hours per week. You make your schedule based off your needs and our patients needs. Don't have experience with hospice? Not to worry, we provide all the training you need!

Birthday Balloon Delivery Voluneer - This volunteer role ensures that hospice patients receive a birthday balloon/gift on their birthday. Every birthday counts for a hospice patient, and our birthday balloon delivery volunteer ensures that this day is not only remembered but celebrated. Key Responsibilities: Volunteer participates in Hospice orientation, training and a background check Volunteer receives monthly emails with patients birthdate, name and address Volunteer receives a monthly gift card to purchase balloons and/or gifts Volunter insures a timely delivery of birthday balloon/gift to patient Volunteer tracks time in a tracking App Skills and Qualifications Caring, friendly and compassionate toward the elderly Ability to receive emails and record volunteer times Ability to drive to patient's homes Ability to keep patient information confidential Time Commitment Hours will vary from 1-4 hours per MONTH depending on birthdays per month Days will vary depending on date of birthdays, but times are flexable With questions please feel free to call the volunteer coordinator at 719-242-0043 Please Note: Our main office is in Pueblo CO., but we service the Walsenburg Area

As a veteran volunteer, you can provide the practical and emotional support to our patients and their families when they need it the most. Where: Visits can take place in Patient's homes, as well as nursing homes, assisted living, memory care units, group homes and hospitals. How: Volunteers will be provided with ongoing one-on-one staff support throughout their service with us, and will receive training on how to service Veterans and their families. Our volunteers must complete an application, interview, background checks, hospice orientation, drug and TB test.
