Grant Prospector and Writer (Volunteer) Location: Remote Are you experienced in grant writing and passionate about supporting environmental sustainability? Waste Free Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a skilled Grant Prospector and Writer to help secure funding for our programs focused on waste reduction and sustainable living. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in researching grant opportunities and crafting compelling proposals to support our mission. Responsibilities: Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with our mission and programs Write and submit grant proposals, ensuring alignment with grant guidelines and organizational needs Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to tailor grant applications to specific funding opportunities Provide strategic advice on fundraising approaches, donor retention, and increasing donor engagement Assist in preparing necessary documentation and reports for funders Offer insights on building sustainable relationships with donors and foundations Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development Strong research and writing skills, with attention to detail Ability to effectively communicate our mission and impact to funders Experience with donor engagement strategies is a plus Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines Passion for environmental sustainability and nonprofit work Commitment: There is no specific time commitment for this role-contributions can be flexible and based on your availability. We are open to any level of involvement from experienced grant writers, prospectors, and fundraisers who are eager to make an impact. Content Creator (Volunteer) Location: Remote or Queen Creek, AZ (In-person opportunities available for local volunteers) Are you passionate about sustainability and skilled in visual storytelling? Waste Free Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a talented Content Creator to help share our mission of reducing waste and promoting sustainable living. You will collaborate closely with our Marketing Director to ensure content aligns with our overall strategy and engages our community. Responsibilities: Develop and design compelling content for our social media platforms and website Create graphics, visuals, and other multimedia content to support our campaigns Work with the Marketing Director to maintain a consistent brand voice and aesthetic Research sustainability trends and incorporate them into your content Assist in managing content calendars and scheduling posts across platforms Attend and capture content at in-person events if local Skills & Qualifications: Experience with graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) Strong eye for design and art direction Familiarity with social media platforms and trends (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) Creative thinking and the ability to translate ideas into visual content Self-motivated and able to work independently Video editing or animation skills are a plus but not required No formal degree required-just a passion for creativity and sustainability! Description
Waste Free Society’s goal is to ensure equitable access to eco-friendly practices like composting and organic food, while backing regenerative farming and fueling the growth of our local economy. We are working to implement a Waste Free Certification program that will aid local businesses to divert food waste to local composting and vermicomposting farms. We also host Second Saturday Community Markets where we do pop-up appearances of our Waste Free Boutique, a one-for-one exchange of clothing items that aids in diverting clothing waste.
