Grant Prospector and Writer (Volunteer)
Location: Remote

Are you experienced in grant writing and passionate about supporting environmental sustainability?
Waste Free Society, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is seeking a skilled Grant Prospector and Writer to help secure funding for our programs focused on waste reduction and sustainable living. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in researching grant opportunities and crafting compelling proposals to support our mission.

Responsibilities:

• Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with our mission and programs
• Write and submit grant proposals, ensuring alignment with grant guidelines and organizational needs
• Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to tailor grant applications to specific funding opportunities
• Provide strategic advice on fundraising approaches, donor retention, and increasing donor engagement
• Assist in preparing necessary documentation and reports for funders
• Offer insights on building sustainable relationships with donors and foundations

Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit development
• Strong research and writing skills, with attention to detail
• Ability to effectively communicate our mission and impact to funders
• Experience with donor engagement strategies is a plus
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines
• Passion for environmental sustainability and nonprofit work

There is no specific time commitment for this role-contributions can be flexible and based on your availability. We are open to any level of involvement from experienced grant writers, prospectors, and fundraisers who are eager to make an impact.
