Own It Financial Education is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our upcoming Telephone Fundraising Initiative. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact while developing your communication and fundraising skills! Responsibilities: Make outreach calls to potential donors, sponsors, and community members. Provide accurate information about Own It Financial Education’s programs and services. Record and report donations and pledges during the event. Work closely with the team to meet fundraising goals. Qualifications: Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging phone presence. Passion for financial education and community service. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable making outbound calls to donors and sponsors. Previous experience in fundraising or sales is a plus, but not required. Access to a phone and computer with internet access for virtual volunteering. Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Volunteer Grant Writer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in securing funding to support our programs and initiatives. The Volunteer Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, government agencies, and other funding sources. Key Responsibilities: Research: Identify and research potential grant opportunities that align with the mission and goals of Own It Financial Education. Proposal Writing: Develop and write compelling grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documentation, that clearly articulate our mission, goals, and needs. Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Director and other team members to gather the necessary information and materials for grant submissions. Grant Management: Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines, track proposal statuses, and ensure timely submission of all grant applications. Reporting: Assist in the preparation of grant reports and updates for funders, ensuring compliance with all grant requirements. Qualifications: Experience: Previous experience in grant writing or fundraising is preferred, but not required. Strong writing and research skills are essential. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively. Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Passion: A genuine interest in financial education and empowering families through nonprofit work.
