The Accounting Coordinator is a volunteer role (unpaid) and reports to the Board and executive/governance committee. The AC is responsible for managing and maintaining the financial reports and records for the foundation. Responsibilities: Preparing financial accounting of donations and grants received Assisting in timely preparation of annual budgets Assisting with annual filings and reporting (i.e., Form 990, state filings, etc.) Coordinating with Board and committee to: determine appropriate funds allocation ensure funding/budgets for programs prepare donor receipts for signature Coordinating with the Fundraising Coordinator to account for/verify expected funds from events Understanding and supporting the foundation's mission, purpose, and policies Attending board meetings and trainings as required Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age Exhibit excellent communication and writing skills Exhibit excellent time managment skills Be reliable and responsible to demands Be passionate about community service and philanthropy Commit to at least 1-2 hours of service per month, if necessary Commit to at least 2 years as a volunteer Note: This opportunity may be used for college course credit. The role can be performed anywhere within the United States. All candidates must reside within the United States. We cannot support international volunteers or court-mandated community service hours.

The KLM Foundation is seeking an entry-level web support specialist to develop and maintain its web presence. The Web Support Specialist is a volunteer (unpaid) reporting to the Board's executive/governance committee and is essential to ensuring an effective web presence for the foundation as well as communication with/connection to the communities it supports. Responsibilities may include: Ensuring the foundation's website content and functionality remain updated at all times Proposing new website providers/hosts to the committee and Board Providing suggestions and ideas to attract new traffic to the website Managing incoming website contact submissions Troubleshooting and resolving website technical issues Effectively communicating identified issues/resolutions to the committee and Board Reporting website metrics to committee and Board Providing user training for other existing support platforms, if applicable Understanding and supporting the foundation’s mission, purpose, and policies Supporting designated events and initiatives, as applicable Attending regular board meetings and training as required Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age Have basic computer skills Have basic web support experience and knowledge of terminology Be a friendly, compassionate, leader Have excellent communication and writing skills Have excellent time management skills Speak fluent English Be passionate about community service and philanthropy Commit to at least 1-2 hours of service per month, where necessary Commit to at least 2 years as a volunteer This opportunity may be used for course credit and may be performed anywhere within the United States. The Onboarding Coordinator is a volunteer (unpaid) role. The OC reports to the board and is responsible for coordinating the recruitment and/or onboarding of volunteers and may lead the membership committee. The role regularly coordinates with the Board Secretary and/or executive/governance committee to ensure successful onboarding, exit, training, and retention of new and/or existing members and volunteers. This role also coordinates onboarding as part of the donor/sponsor membership program. Responsibilities include: Creating strategies to attract new board members and volunteers, to retain existing members and volunteers, and to evaluate existing and exiting board members and volunteers Coordinating onboarding/orientation training and reporting training completion metrics Ensuring recognition of volunteers during appreciation days, birthdays, and anniversaries Reporting membership engagement, onboarding, and offboarding Monitoring the membership mailbox and reporting membership program interests Understanding and supporting the foundation’s mission, purpose, and policies Supporting designated events and initiatives, as applicable Attending regular board meetings and training as required Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age Be a friendly, compassionate, leader Have excellent communication and writing skills Have excellent time management skills Possess real-life experiences beneficial to the communities in which the foundation commits Be passionate about community service and philanthropy Commit to at least 1-2 hours of service per month, if necessary Commit to at least 2 years as a volunteer This is a great opportunity for someone interested in Human Resources or member services and may be used for college credit.
