The Onboarding Coordinator is a volunteer (unpaid) role. The OC reports to the board and is responsible for coordinating the recruitment and/or onboarding of volunteers and may lead the membership committee. The role regularly coordinates with the Board Secretary and/or executive/governance committee to ensure successful onboarding, exit, training, and retention of new and/or existing members and volunteers. This role also coordinates onboarding as part of the donor/sponsor membership program.
Responsibilities include:
- Creating strategies to attract new board members and volunteers, to retain existing members and volunteers, and to evaluate existing and exiting board members and volunteers
- Coordinating onboarding/orientation training and reporting training completion metrics
- Ensuring recognition of volunteers during appreciation days, birthdays, and anniversaries
- Reporting membership engagement, onboarding, and offboarding
- Monitoring the membership mailbox and reporting membership program interests
- Understanding and supporting the foundation’s mission, purpose, and policies
- Supporting designated events and initiatives, as applicable
- Attending regular board meetings and training as required
Requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be a friendly, compassionate, leader
- Have excellent communication and writing skills
- Have excellent time management skills
- Possess real-life experiences beneficial to the communities in which the foundation commits
- Be passionate about community service and philanthropy
- Commit to at least 1-2 hours of service per month, if necessary
- Commit to at least 2 years as a volunteer
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in Human Resources or member services and may be used for college credit. The role can be performed anywhere within the United States. All candidates must reside within the United States.
NOTE: We cannot support international volunteers or court-appointed community service goals.
