At the Center for Youth and Sustainable Development (CYSD), we are working on several projects to improve the lives of children and vulnerable communities in Cameroon. To further expand our impact and improve our outreach, we are seeking a dedicated and creative volunteer to help us redesign our WordPress website. Our website is crucial for raising awareness, sharing our work, and engaging with our supporters. However, we believe it can better reflect the breadth of our activities and engage visitors more effectively. That’s where we need your help! We are looking for someone who: Has experience with WordPress design and development Can improve user experience and create a more engaging and informative platform Has a passion for non-profit work and community development Can commit a few hours a week to assist with this redesign. Your contribution will directly support our efforts to provide education, humanitarian services, and development programs to displaced and vulnerable children in hard-to-reach areas of Cameroon. The platform will provide an accessible space for girls to register and start learning IT, and we are looking for volunteers to help develop self-study content for the students. We are currently seeking volunteers with expertise in Computer Fundamentals to help create engaging and easy-to-understand learning materials. We’re on a mission to empower women, girls, and youth by providing them with free access to IT and vocational training. Our latest project is the development of an online training platform, and we need volunteer developers to make this a reality. Description
The goal of CYSD is to break the cycle of educational inequality by tackling the root cause of high dropout rates in secondary schools, particularly concerning insufficient reading proficiency among primary school children in the Munyenge community. Additionally, our organization is committed to enhancing the living conditions of vulnerable populations, including orphans, street children, internally displaced children due to the ongoing conflict in the English-speaking regions of Cameroon, youth, individuals grappling with substance abuse, teenagers, women, and sex workers in both rural and urban settings.
