Responsibilities: - Assist Education Team with curriculum development in at least one of the following areas: Base Curriculum (Baltimore programs), Virtual Curriculum (Outschool), and Workshops (Maryland Science Center) - Design slides and plan interactive activities for the following units: gardening, hydroponics, nutrition, sustainability, water quality, computer-aided design (CAD), engineering, entrepreneurship, and more - Conduct program surveys and implement feedback - Collaborate and maintain regular communication with Education Team and Education Lead - Commit 2-4 hours/week: weekly Education Team meetings ( 1 hour) and weekly tasks - Commit at least 1 year to Seedling - Interview Process (1 round): interview (10-20 min) Requirements: - Be 18 years or older - Have High School Diploma - Have excellent verbal and written communication skills - Have an interest in STEM, health, gardening, food, or sustainability - Have prior experience teaching or interacting with youth How To Apply: To apply, please submit this form: https://bit.ly/seedlinginterest Email: seedlinghydroponics@gmail.com Website: www.seedlinghydroponic.com

Seedling Inc. is looking for Teaching Volunteers for the 2024-25 school year! Responsibilities: - Teach the Seedling curriculum (elementary or middle school level) at their assigned teaching location(s) covering the following areas: gardening, hydroponics, nutrition, sustainability, water quality, computer-aided design (CAD), entrepreneurship, and engineering - Assist with curriculum and workshop development (optional) - Attend mandatory weekly meetings (15-30 min) with assigned Teaching Coordinator(s) to report updates, discuss lesson plan(s), distribute materials, and practice teaching - Commit to at least 1 session/week (~2-4 hours/week for sessions, travel, self-prep, and meetings) - Commit to an additional 2 hours/week of commitment for each additional session taught (e.g., 2 sessions = 4-6 hours/week, 3 sessions = 6-8 hours/week, etc.) - Commit at least 1 academic year to Seedling - Interview process (1 round): interview (20-30 min) and mock teaching (10-15 min) Programs: For the 2023-24 school year, Seedling hosted programs at the following locations: - Green Street Academy - Samuel F.B. Morse Recreation Center - For My Kidz Inc. - Saint Luke’s Youth Center - Gwynns Falls Elementary - Rosemont Elementary - Cecil Elementary - St. Francis Neighborhood Center Note: Transportation fees for teaching sessions will be reimbursed for all Teaching Volunteers!
